With its courtyard shaded by grapevines, olive and lemon trees, air scented by oregano, mint, thyme and basil plants and sheltered by whitened stone walls, the lovingly restored Anemone Residence has retained the architectural characteristics of its island farmhouse roots.
The property consists of two separate houses connected by a courtyard.
Anemone House and the Little Tower, with its own entrance from the quiet village street above the property, offer all the comfort and modern amenities combined with tasteful decoration, topped only by the stunning view overlooking the bay of Poros.
The private pool - shaded during the hot summer hours by an ancient olive tree - adds the final touch to a property tailor made for its guests wellness and relaxation.
When Austrian architect, Marie Luise Andoniadou, came to Poros in the early nineties for the first time, she instantly knew that this was the place for her. She has since bought and restored two 19th century houses and has recently finished a third one.
She worked with a lot of respect for the old character of the houses, and furnished them with charming antiques and country style pieces. But she also added a modern hint to them, using fresh colours and touches of luxury. Combined with service and amenities of an up scale hotel, the properties yet retain the unique atmosphere and authenticity of their charming Greek island setting.
Sto Roloi was the first one, which she converted into two 2bedroom apartments and a studio. After she finished those, she started on the Anemone Residence, which she split into a small villa with private plunge pool in the garden and the Little Tower, a secluded maisonette type studio. In summer 2007 she finished Limeri Residence, a true hide away, offering a small villa and a studio with a secluded, shared pool.

When we arrived at Villa Anemone while Florian was carrying our luggage I immediately remembered the words I read about the house. Everything was true and we were impressed. We spent one wonderful week and enjoyed the house with the cozy and original furnishing and felt like Greeks at home. When you stay at the house it`s quiete and you can hear the birds and the bees flying arround the house but if you only go a few stairs down to the harbour you will reach the area which is full of life! And in addition Florian and Jeanette everyday went over and ask how we are doing. So.. the best place to come back as soon as possible. Thank you Marie-Louise and your Team!
We have stayed in the Anemone House every summer for a number of years now and we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Poros. The house is beautifully furnished in a traditional style and very clean and well-maintained. The town, with plenty of shops, bars & tavernas (and an amazing bakery), is a short walk away down some steps. The closest beach is about 10-15 minutes walk from the apartment. It is very easy to while away the hours on one of the loungers next to the pool before watching the sunset over the mountains and sea, with a glass of wine! Marie Luise and her team are extremely helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend a stay here.
