Cute old-style cottage next to the river
We stayed as a family of four for a couple of nights in August 2019. The cottage is in a beautiful location, very quiet and right opposite the river. We swam in the river (it is shallow but not warm even in summer) every day, although it does require climbing down some rocks to get to the water. Many times we saw locals and visitors go down the river in kayaks and rubber rings or inflatables.
There is a good Country Store very close and Manchester, with the larger selection of shops and restaurants is about 10-15 minutes away.
The beds were very comfortable, with a very large bed in the main bedroom and the bedroom downstairs having two good size beds (one of which is a pullout which raises). There is no TV service provided and the wi-fi worked but was slow, so this is not a place for high-tech entertainment, but one to relax at and be 'in the country'. It is very well stocked and is obviously enjoyed as a vacation home by the owner.
Anyone with children should be aware that the property is decorated in a quite old style, with lots of antiques and mirrors which may not suit everyone. Also two of the bedrooms do not have doors, which again may not suit everyone.
