Attractions around this suite:

The Ottawa/Gatineau region looks like an elaborate painting blended with a modern metropolitan city. Nestled at the meeting of three major rivers – the Ottawa River, the Gatineau River, and the Rideau River – Canada’s capital city has 19th century architecture and outdoor landscapes made to charm any visitor.
The most popular site in Ottawa is the Rideau Canal, which cuts through the heart of the region. Many residents and tourists can be seen having picnics or relaxing on an afternoon break near the canal. In the winter, when this massive body of streaming water is completely frozen over, the canal transforms into the world’s largest ice skating rink. This alone is a sight enough to make the trip.

Also Gatineau Park is another park reflecting nature beauty which will takes one’s breath away. The Park is huge. The Pink Lake hike is a must see. This park is wonderful with unique plants and wildlife,, one can do some cycling, camping hiking giving peaceful and tranquility to one’s life one can also walk around Pink Lake, taking about 20 minutes to go around the lake. It is called Pink Lake but in fact it is in green color reflecting different kinds of minerals. In fact, it is named Pink Lake after the Pink family living there.

Furthermore, if one wants to be a bit more adventurous, , the Skyline trail has excellent views especially spectacular in the fall. The Mackenzie estate (Past Prime Minister of Canada) is worth the visit. Moreover, take one's canoe to Meech Lake. (Start at trail 40 and paddle North - there's a cool stream to paddle away. The terrain is very varied, views are great, the trails are well marked, getting there by car is a breeze, and parking facility offers easy access and not expensive. Some of the trails are challenging, and involve a lot of climbing, fording streams, and so on. But some of the trails are easy to do in walking shoes, so there really is something for everyone. The most beautiful time of the year is in the fall. Leaves turn color and it is the most beautiful scene. One may walk for hours and children may be thrilled to enjoy playing in the leaves. Even during winter and summer for people who like to bike in the summer and snow shoe and cross country skilling in the winter with marked trail by the City of Gatineau. Absolutely beautiful!

Great location
Location was excellent over all for a family focused on riding Ottawa's excellent bike trails. Check in and out was smooth. Host was very helpful. Underground parking was awesome, and there was even a secure room to place out bikes. I think the description "facing water and parliament hill" is pushing it a bit. I had to lean over the edge of the 21st floor balcony to glimpse parliament and yes, there was water visible, but it wasn't like the apartment faced the Ottawa river in the way the description implies. The apartment is on the back of the building, so its not quite as advertised. Beautiful views regardless.

Wonderful location, helpful host
What a perfect location, and lovely unit! The host was exceptionally helpful. There was a problem with the air conditioning, and she made sure we were taken care of. There was even once that we had made a parking error on the street, and were about to get a ticket, and she intervened before we even saw the police at our car; what a relief!

A great place to stay in Gatineau/Ottawa area
We stayed in the Penthouse for more than 3 weeks in August. This was a great place to stay for our needs. We walked to Parliament and the Canadian History Museum several times, rode our bikes to our son's house near the Aviation and Space Museum and the Rideau Canal on Sundays when some roads are closed to auto traffic. Being adjacent to Cartier park and the adjacent bike trails was amazing. The Penthouse had a great views of downtown Gatineau , the rivers, the Quebec mountains, and the Canadian History Museum, where they had a fireworks display every Wednesday and Saturday (probably just for the 150th Canadian Anniversary). We used the available auto parking and the secure bike locker which made it convenient to take in everything the Capital City had to offer. Amy was very responsive to our needs and responded quickly to any requests we made. WiFi was excellent. People in the building were friendly and gracious, even through we spoke no French and they were especially nice to our two grandsons (age 4 and 2) who stayed with us every day and went home at night. The bed was great, the kitchen functional, the laundry in the unit was helpful, better than using the one in the basement. Everything was clean. We will definitely stay there next time we visit Ottawa.

Lovely view and quiet, clean apartment - but lacks several necessities
This is an older, one-bedroom/one-bathroom unit that is sparsely and rather oddly furnished, but it is clean and relatively comfortable. There are few decorations on the walls, but there are no marks or damage, either—the place may have been recently painted. There are wood or tile floors throughout, but just one rug at the sink in the kitchen. There is one very thin curtain in the bedroom, but it's ineffective in blocking out light. Positive: Great panoramic view of western Gatineau (not Parliament Hill) out the living room window and some views of a little bit of downtown Ottawa out the kitchen one. The unit is on the top floor of the building, so no one is overhead. The garage is underground and is secure. Wi-fi and one large HD TV in the living room were good. The apartment is in a decent location--downtown Ottawa is about a 40-minute walk, nice on good weather days. However, since there are no restaurant or stores within walking distance, a car is recommended. The owner of the unit was kind, helpful, and accessible. Negative: Small things such as no A/C or telephone, no overhead lights or ceiling fans, pitifully few electrical outlets, minimal kitchen supplies, and no “modern” conveniences like a dishwasher, garbage disposal, washing machine, or dryer were a little inconvenient, but not problems that couldn’t be overcome (e.g., the building has a pay laundry area in the basement). A parking charge of $10 per day was not included in the advertised price--not a big deal, but it should have been mentioned. The major problem I experienced daily was the lack of any sun-blocking curtains or drapery in the windows. The west-facing window is quite large since it also includes a small balcony--in the winter, this may be nice, but in the summer, the sun is brutal. There is no way to cover this large a window, and it was difficult to sit at the little dining table in the afternoon or early evening because of the glare and the heat that beats in. The south-facing window, also undraped, looks out at another tower of the apartment complex, so there is no privacy. There was one window in the bedroom--I put a few towels over the rod so was able to subdue the bright sun in the morning. The views and the peace and quiet in the condo were pleasant, and I liked that my car was covered and secure in an underground garage. However, the apartment wasn’t as comfortable as it could have been, primarily due to the lack of sun-blocking window coverings.

I am a business real property owner and I am also educated in Canada, holding accounting designation (CPA, CGA) and MBA. I have been enjoying this condo and will retire in this unique Capital City. Currently, I would like to share this space with others to appreciate the proximity of all attractions in downtown Ottawa/Gatineau. Recently, I have been focusing more on vacation rental due to its dynamic feature. Vacation rental is one of my many passions, dealing with customers and learning from each other. I have developed excellent relationships with my clients via Ottawa/Hull vacation rental as well as Victoria BC rental (Property Number 515604). Every guest has his/her unique requirements and I have been trying to fulfill most of them. As this is my first year to welcome short vacation rental guests in Ottawa, please refer to a number of decent reviews for my Victoria vacation rental since I started my vacation rental in 2013 (VRBO property No. 515604 & 833737).

Why they chose this property

I am a city person but I enjoy the tranquility of waterfront condo, there is magnificent view of residence of Prime Minister, waterfall, Ottawa River and Parliament Hill. The condo is just renovated with new kitchen including Botch Washer and Dryer, dish washer, fridge and stove. Mostly importantly, we installed Hotel Style A/C and heating central unit as recommended by one of our guests.

What makes this property unique

Again, I have to emphasize the importance of city living. We do provide an indoor parking with a $10 per day, but you will enjoy walking around the city without worrying about having a car.
