17th Century cottage near the picturesque village of Clovelly

Updated: 20-Oct-2016
Sleeps 6

Hugglepit Cottage is a 17th Century delight with exposed wooden beams and an inglenook fireplace. Two large living rooms provide ample space indoors. The first is a dining and living space with open fire and the second a large and unique space for larger parties. French windows open out onto a patio for barbeques and the orchard. An acre of gardens and woodland means there is plenty of space to play, relax and explore. Two double and two single rooms in the same character mean a comfortable nights sleep for all.

Really enjoyed our stay ay the cottage,it was exactly as it was described in the details.Perfectly positioned to take advantage of most of the North Devon coast. The weather was'nt the best but it did not affect our time there.Plenty of places to let the dog run wild.Extremely peaceful and relaxing few days.Very competitively priced for the location.Would definitely return.

Wonderful homely bolthole in stunning area

  • 5 of 5

Hugglepit lived up to our (high!) expectations and provided a wonderful base for a lovely family week in Devon. The area is gorgeous, much wilder and more unspoilt that we expected, and walking down to Clovelly was a delight. The cottage is big and very tastefully furnished. The garden is wonderful. Highly recommended.

The picture says it all!

Reluctant to reveiw as it would mean too many bookings from others!

If you want a character cottage that has comfortable beds & furniture is also surrounded by green fields with distant sea views then Huglepit is the place for you.

We know the area well with friends in a nearby village & thought we had stayed in the best available dog friendly cottages but this trumps them all. Down stairs bedroom perfect for those that can't get up the old original stairs to the other bedrooms.

Loved it.

Wonderful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a find. A fabulous cottage in a wonderful location. Hugglepit had everything we wanted. Lovely location, beautiful views, warm cosy fires, outstanding wildlife garden. We really did not want to leave. Angela was very kind and the welcome gift of bread, biscuits etc was very much appreciated. If you are looking for a quiet get away in a cottage that is so cosy, warm and well equipped, a garden that is teaming with wildlife , located in a beautiful part of Devon... Hugglepit is the just the ticket. Cannot wait to return

A little gem

  • 5 of 5

4 adults, 2 teenage children and 3 Labradors. Plenty of room with the second sitting room being a god send. We were lucky enough to be able to use the BBQ a couple of times as the weather was kind to us and sitting the the garden was just heaven. The dogs loved having so much space and exploring the area.

The little extras left by Angela were a very kind thought. After some long days out exploring it was lovely to return to the cottage to relax in comfort. Thank you Angela for a wonderful stay.
