About the property

2 Ensuite bedrooms sleeps 4, countryside by sea, privacy, aircon, sat TV, Wi-Fi

This luxury dream holiday cottage with 2 en-suite bedrooms is located in its own 4 acres with breathtaking views of the mountains and surrounding olive groves. La Casita is officially registered and compliant under the newly-introduced tourism regulations 2016 by the Junta de Andalucia. The popular Mediterranean beaches, restaurants and nightlife of Mojacar are only 5 minutes' drive away. Very exclusive and very private. The cottage is a haven of peace away from the madding crowds of the Costas - the perfect place for a relaxed holiday with more than 320 days of sunshine. Self-catering, there's a modern well-equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area with air conditioning in all rooms, free Wi-Fi and Sky satellite TV. Adjoining is an exclusive private pool, fabulous new summerhouse, patio and barbecue with an American-style enclosure keeping the area mosquito and fly-free all day and night. There's ample parking. Nearby, the fishing port of Garrucha with its marina - and its shopping - and the beaches and water park at Vera are well worth a visit. And so too is Granada, Almeria, the mini-Hollywood and zoo at Tabernas, the famous caves of Sorbas and the historic castle at Lorca.

Perfect for some winter sunshine

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at La Casita for four weeks in January. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. We found it a perfect base to explore the area as within minutes we could be enjoying some lovely mountain drives or visiting the coastal towns. The nearby town of Turre is a pleasant walk away across the fields and has many amenities including a well stocked supermarket. Our only regret was visiting at a time of year when we could not use the beautiful swimming pool - easily rectified in the future.

Owner's Response: It's always a pleasure to hear from our guests who've spent a relaxed and enjoyable time at the holiday cottage whatever the time of year. The location , alongside a newly established olive grove, is less than ten minutes' drive from the beautiful beaches, restaurants, bars and Mediterranean nightlife of Mojacar. It's a countryside haven of peace with wonderful mountain views that has proved such a magnet for returning guests during the past 10 years. Thank you Barry and Christine for discovering the delights of La Casita.

This is a fantastic venue for a stress free vacation. The casita is great and the pool is big free.

The property is as described and much much more overall a perfect place to enjoy a stress free vacation and the covered pool complete with loungers, gazebo table and chairs is superb. We will certainly be coming again if it is available but as its shuck a fantastic place early booking is advised. We cannot praise the owners and management team enough for making our vacation one of the best we have had.

Owner's Response: It's so encouraging to hear from our regular guests who've enjoyed yet another fabulous holiday staying at the holiday cottage. We try our best to ensure that everyone feels at home and can relax in the sunshine or in the shade beside the pool throughout their vacation. So thank you Jacqueline and Peter for taking time out to write such a nice complimentary review that is much appreciated.

Superb Pool but.....

  • 3 of 5

Didn't feel the property was really ready for visitors. We had to do a real clean when we arrived. The kitchen felt dirty, cooker & surrounding units were greasy. Cutlery tray was dirty & some cutlery was actually rusting. Saucepans hadn't been washed properly either. From day 2 we ate out. There was no hot water when we arrived & we could not work the oven (no instructions). Beware the oven burns everything very quickly & the oven door is also dirty. The bathroom taps were scaled up & had soap & toothpaste on them....uck!

If it hadn't been for the amazing pool area we could have left there & then on our first day.

Sorry but would not go back again.

Owner's Response: In response to this review : Please don't believe everything you read! This guest arrived at the holiday cottage in a shocking bad mood, immediately texting complaints about the facilities, claiming there was no hot water, the oven didn't work, and that the TV was "hit and miss". Over the years all of our guests without exception, and as testified in the Visitors Book and in many published reviews, have been fulsome in their praise of the property and its excellent facilities. On this occasion all the complaints were promptly dealt with. The hot water boiler and the oven both needed to be switched on! A written message had been left in the property explaining there were sometimes problems with daytime television in this part of southern Spain that's on the edge of the satellite footprint, although reception improves in the evenings. The manager called round the same day and was assured everything at the villa was OK. So after her original text the guest sent the following reply : "Apologies for my harsh text. We had a horrendous journey from the airport in a hail storm......All OK now so no need to worry." Yes, we do worry when a guest then launches a very public attack after the holiday designed, no doubt, to unfairly influence other holidaymakers. As our first guest of the summer season, my wife worked very hard in the excessive heat to prepare for her arrival making sure all the sheets, towels, etc., were freshly laundered and ironed and that all the rooms and bathrooms had been thoroughly cleaned. We also made sure essential food items were provided as we do for all guests. In addition, all the kitchen equipment had just been cleaned and checked out by the Almeria Tourism Authority....the microwave less than six months old and hardly used, and the fridge/freezer, kettle, and toaster all functioning properly. The washing machine brand new and the dryer in good condition. We always do our best to make our guests feel at home and comfortable.

We have just come back from a beautiful 2 weeks at La Casita, we really couldn't have wished for anything more. The property was lovely and clean and had everything we needed, and the pool area is amazing - to be honest we had a battle to even get the kids to go to the beach. It's so nice to be able to eat out without the flies and mosquitos attacking you and your lunch too! There are plenty of restaurants within a few minutes drive and we enjoyed our time on the nearby beaches too. Juan was absolutely brilliant if we needed anything during our stay - we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending La Casita, and are very thankful that you allowed us to share your beautiful holiday home.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the wonderful 5-Star Review on your first visit to La Casita. We're so glad you found us among the hundreds of holiday homes now listed in this popular Mediterranean region of Spain. This part of Almeria is Europe's only desert region so La Casita really does qualify as....an oasis in the sunshine! Do visit us again soon.

This was our second time staying at La Casita in a couple of years & we are so glad we came back. Had a beatufull two weeks of sun, sea & pool. The location is perfect & the cottage has everything needed for a relaxing holiday. We will be back again the future.

Owner's Response: We look forward to welcoming back all our guests. But please secure your bookings as early as you can. A Calendar check shows the holiday cottage is already heavily booked for 2016 with only a few weeks still available.

Return visit

  • 4 of 5

This was our second visit to La Casita. The pool area is amazing and ideal if you have children. It is in a wonderful location and the beautiful village of Mojacar Pueblo is less than 10 minutes away. Perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Owner's Response: There's nowhere else in Spain quite like Mojacar - a Moorish, hilltop village with its cobbled streets, fine restaurants and traditional charms, that's a magnet for visitors in search of a relaxing holiday and guaranteed Spanish sunshine. They're just some of the reasons why guests choose to return year after year and are most welcome to La Casita.

The exclusive holiday cottage bordered by beautiful olive groves is just a mile from the Spanish village of Turre with its supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants. Nestling between the Sierra Cabrera mountains and the Mediterranean, nearby Mojacar is the most popular tourist centre in this southeast corner of Spain. The old hilltop town is a labyrinth of cobbled streets while along the seafront the beaches are a magnet for sun-seekers with plenty of bars and international restaurants and menus to satisfy all tastes as well as discos and nightclubs. It's a sporting paradise, too, with Europe's only championship desert golf course and health spa at Desert Springs and Marina Golf in Mojacar and Valle del Este. Explore this unspoiled region of Andalucia with one of the healthiest and sunniest climates in Spain with 320 days of sunshine annually. It's an experience you'll never forget and a location where discerning holidaymakers return to again and again. Enjoy the weekly markets and the Moors and Christians fiestas complete with fireworks and extravagant costumes.
