The perfect romantic fusion of Regency splendour and sea views!

Situated along the impressive sweeping Hesketh Crescent, and overlooking manicured grounds which lead down to the beautiful Meadfoot Beach and dramatic Devon coastline beyond, this wonderfully presented historic 1848 first floor holiday home provides the ideal romantic retreat for your time here in Torquay! With a balcony that allows undisturbed sea views and where the sun can be literally soaked up, this is an apartment that provides luxury and comfort in abundance as well as being the perfect spot for exploring all the Torquay has to offer.

The Balcony: 1 bedroom with z-bed if required, 1 bathroom & sea views. Lovely sunny outlook with oversized Victorian sash windows, balcony & genuine Regency character features plus a private parking space within the gates of the crescent.

First floor apartment (one level on the 1st floor)

The typical high ceilings of Regency first floor rooms can be enjoyed by guests in the property, with a beautiful and grand open plan living and dining room enjoying regal dimensions as well as splendid 180º sea views from its trio of floor length Victorian sash windows.

An ornate marble fireplace with an electric stove fireplace adds ambience and romance to relaxed evenings in. The comfortable pair of sofas provides the ideal home from home comfort with a flat screen HD Freeview TV with DVD player and library, a PlayStation and a CD player with MP3 and iPod function all easily to hand.

A charming fully fitted separate kitchen is situated just off the living room and is perfectly equipped for preparing dinner parties, with an electric hob, oven, toaster, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, dishwasher & washing machine.

A stylish dining area which sits up to 4 is situated in the elegant living room next to the large windows which can be opened to enjoy a fine sea breeze. Guests can further enjoy an evening aperitif or delicious home cooked meal at the pretty breakfast table, which is provided outside on the sunny balcony.

Guests can also enjoy unwinding in the beautiful master bedroom which is finished in chic French-style furniture, pretty hand painted oriental style Cole & Son wallpaper and boasts the same glorious high ceilings and spacious layout of the main reception room. A King size bed ensures guests enjoy a full night's rest and a flat screen TV with integral DVD player so you need not rush to enjoy your favourite show or movie is also provided for convenience.

Additional guests who are less than 10 years old may also be accommodated to the fold up Z Bed – which can be provided upon request.

A modern fitted shower room completes the internal accommodation and offer a luxurious hotel-like feel.

Outside

The idyllic balcony views span across the tranquil Meadfoot beach and the grand sweeping Hesketh Crescent, which also features a selection of wonderful outdoor eating areas & restaurants to enjoy during your stay!

Parking

There is one private parking space provided with this apartment which is on the left just through the gates of crescent.

Location

Situated on the seafront, this apartment is close to shops and activities. The nearby beach offers swimming, paddling or rock-pooling depending on the weather. Restaurants are within walking distance and there is a bus stop just outside the crescent gates, while the location offers fabulous activities within easy travel.

Things to do

As well as a lovely choice of restaurants along Hesketh Crescent guests can also pay a day or week’s membership fee to enjoy the facilities of the Osborne Hotel Health Club, with the indoor swimming pool, tennis court, gym and sauna for guests use if this optional extra is enjoyed.

Torquay's waterfront is the focus of life in the town. Here you'll find the palm-lined promenade, seafront gardens, a lively harbour and an international marina. The new Living Coasts attraction adds to the variety of the new waterfront and the illuminated bridge is a great backdrop to a relaxing evening drink. Yet within minutes of Torquay town centre there are beautiful beaches easily accessible by foot, road or sea.

There are 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves and beaches and walks to rival any in the South West of England, with a climate that belongs somewhere much further south. There are opportunities for surfing, safe swimming, diving, sailing, angling and wonderful opportunities to study the natural wildlife at your leisure.

Guestbook comments from the manager

5* ~ Spent two weeks in The Balcony and the apartment was just what we had hoped for. Actually, it was beyond expectations: extremely clean, spacious, luxurious, beautifully decorated, a comfortable bed and shower and just all the facilities one could need were there. The terrace might even be the biggest asset: we enjoyed it every day to enjoy our breakfast, lunch or late afternoon wine.

The service was excellent as well. Sue and Richard: your attention to detail and personal touch was much appreciated, thank you again for that. Everything was just perfect. Hope to be back soon!

South Devon has a lot to offer and we had too little time to do all the sightseeing and try all the nice restaurants in the area.

Good tip: if you are planning to do a lot of sightseeing, bring your own convertible car or hire one at the airport, you won't regret it. Can recommend Discovery Holiday Homes as well as The Balcony apartment to anyone.

Many thanks and best regards from rainy Rotterdam.

There is an abundance of pavement cafes, Torquay pubs, Torquay restaurants and nightlife in Torquay, good quality shops and a host of attractions to suit every interest.

The English Riviera is a resort in the truest sense of the word, attracting visitors of all ages and interests throughout the year. Undergoing a water front regeneration and a number of new attractions in Torquay and accommodation schemes, Torquay has something for everyone and for all ages, at all times of the year.

Torquay has been one of the UK 's top holiday destinations since Victorian Times when the gentry promenaded, bathing huts were wheeled down to the beaches and anyone who was anyone had an attractive villa overlooking the sea.

It was the Victorians who first used the English Riviera name to describe their favourite resort and their legacy remains to this day with sparkling white villas perched on the verdant hilltops, beautiful gardens around the seafront and elegant Victorian facades along the main streets.

Don't be fooled by the Victorian ancestry however, Torquay is also a vibrant and forward thinking resort attracting visitors of all interests, from Art and Culture afficionados to marine enthusiasts.

Torquay's famous seven hills provide the backdrop to a waterfront scene that matches anything you'll find on the French Riviera.

There are 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves and beaches and walks to rival any in the South West of England, with a climate that belongs somewhere much further south. There are opportunities for surfing, safe swimming, diving, sailing, angling and wonderful opportunities to study the natural wildlife at your leisure

Stunning views are to be seen just about every where across Torbay, out over the English Channel, along the 40 miles of Lyme Bay to Portland Bill or inland towards the Ten Tors Dartmoor. Torquay is an ideal base from which to visit Dartmouth, Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth, all of which are only a few miles distant.

Along the 22 miles of English Riviera coastline are 19 beaches and coves. Some, close to Torquay town centre are wide, open stretches of sand with beach facilities such as cafes, beach huts and watersports. Many are smaller and more secluded.

Several of our beaches hold coveted awards for cleanliness and water quality. Torbay is a naturally sheltered bay, creating a safe haven for ships of all shapes and sizes in stormy weather. Occasional easterly winds create our own winter storms however and this is when beachcombers make their best finds. Keep an eye on the Torquay weather page.

Stretching from the South side of Brixham to Maidencombe, the coast path around the Bay offers excellent and varied walking, with circular walks or point-to-point, with spectacular sea views and an exotic range of flora and fauna.

Torquay is a place to relax, to soak up the atmosphere, to take in the scenery, in Torquay parks and gardens to enjoy the experience of a Torquay holiday in a classical English seaside resort, at all times of the year.

There is a good choice of activities in Torquay to choose from and there is a complete range of accommodation in Torquay to suit every taste and budget. Torquay nightlife has a rich variety of evening entertainment provided throughout the Bay, all year round.
