Spacious 2 or 3 bedroom cottage with 2 bathrooms in a peaceful rural setting

Holme Wold Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can sleep up to 8 guests. For smaller parties you can book just 2 bedrooms at lower rates. This means the cottage is suitable for parties from 1 to 8 people. We also offer the use of a travel cot, highchair & stairgates for younger guests

Downstairs there is a fully equiped kitchen and modern shower room. The cozy sitting room has a log fire, freeview TV and comfy sofas. In the dining room there is a large table that can seat up to 8 and the leather sofa. Upstairs is the family bathroom and the 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have king sized beds, one of which can be converted to two 2ft 6in single beds if required. The third bedroom has twin beds.

Outside there is a large garden, secure shed and 3 parking spaces, one of which is undercover. The garden is mainly lawn so is great for the children and pets to play whilst the adults can relax on the patio area with garden furniture.

The village of Holme on the Wolds is close to the historic market towns of Beverley and Driffield. Within easy reach of the beautiful East Yorkshire Coast including the towns of Bridlington and Scarborough, the historic City of York as well as the county’s hidden gem the port city of Hull. The area offers many opportunities for cycling and walking holidays being close to the famous Wolds Way and many other quiet roads and pathways.

About Anne Bulmer

I married into the Family 19 years ago. After many years working in accountancy and bookkeeping alongside bringing up 2 sons I thought it was time to put my energies into the farm. As my husband does not trust me to be in charge of a tractor I took on our family project - making use of the beautiful workers cottage on the farm.

Anne Bulmer purchased this cottage in 1950

Why Anne Bulmer chose East Riding of Yorkshire

Our farm tenancy includes a cottage that was built over 100 years ago. Until the early 2000's my husbands parents lived here. When they decided to move we needed to find a new use for this building. We decided that we had a gem, set on the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds near to many great activities and other places to visit a holiday cottage was a must. How could we keep this fantastic area to ourselves.

What makes this cottage unique

Although we don't own our farmstead the family have been tenants since 1950 and plan to stay for many years to come. My father in law can relate many stories of the changes that have happened since the 2nd World War. The cottage retains many of the original features, set in a peaceful rural location. As an avid family historian with an interest in social history I have spent sometime researching the cottage and am happy to share with anyone who is interested.

Wildlife, walking & cycling enthusiasts will have plenty to see during a stay at Holme Wold Cottage

Walking the Wolds Way in scorchio weather - lovely to come back to this well equipped - 2 bath/shower room cottage. Know it was going to be good as soon as we saw the roses around the door. Recommend The Pipe & Glass at South Dalton and The Wellington at Lund. Thank you very much for a brilliant holiday. As holiday cottage owners ourselves, you are doing everything right!!

Absolutely beautiful .

Well what can we say about this place ?? Apart from Just fabulous . Beautifully presented in a rural area , peace and quiet beyond belief . We spent Christmas here 2016 . The cottage is warm, very well equipped , beds are amazing a real homely feel about it . The generosity on arrival of champagne in the fridge and home made mince pies were really appreciated . Such a lovely stay !! So much so we booked it before we left for Christmas 2017 .

Amazing cottage in a stunning location

We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. We are a party of 6 with two 11 year old boys (two families). You cannot fail to be impressed as you come down the drive to be greeted by the beautiful cottage with roses round the door. As we entered the cottage we were greeted by a delicious homemade chocolate cake which impressed the boys no end!! Everything has been thought of and the cottage is equipped to a very high standard. The views from every window are amazing, particularly from both king sized bedrooms. We have a visit from Anne the owner and Oscar the dog who were both lovely and made us feel at home instantly. The cottage makes an ideal base for visiting the huge range of attractions that Yorkshire offers. We were very lucky with weather and spent a lot of time on the gorgeous east coast beaches. We would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage as an ideal country retreat.

What a wonderful stay....comfy, warm, amazing location and perfect 'hosts'...we even had homemade mince pies and champers upon arrival!!!

The cottage was very clean and very well equipped - they thought of everything!

A wonderful cottage in a peaceful location

This is a real gem. The cottage is spacious and exceptionally well equipped. Anne is very welcoming and helpful. The beds are lovely and comfy and we were really touched that Anne had provided us with flapjacks, tea ,coffee and milk on arrival. This was much appreciated after our three hour journey.

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and would definitely recommend the cottage for a relaxing break.

Perfect get away in lovely area

It was our first visit to the Yorkshire Wolds, and didn't know much about the area, but we were thoroughly impressed with the cottage, its location and the sights to be seen in East Yorkshire.

The cottage was lovely, set on a peaceful arable farm, with some wildlife seen in the enclosed private garden; pheasants, hedgehog and occasional rabbit, it was just what we all needed for a quiet getaway. Our group comprised only 4 of us, including our toddler, whom everything was provided for - cups, plates, highchair, stairgate, books and toys. He loved the cottage and it was very toddler friendly.

The owners were very welcoming and baked a cake for our arrival. I have never slept so well away from home in the comfy spacious bed, and the cottage was snug and warm. We didn't even get to light the real fire, it was so toasty ! No light pollution and so quiet at night was a bliss (as we live in the middle of a town, we really noticed the change!).

One bedroom is set up like a childs bedroom as a twin, under the eaves, which our son really liked, and 2 large king sized bed bedrooms - perfect for us and for Grandma !

The location is great. Only a short drive to Beverley, which is a beautiful and interesting town. We didn't have any expectations, but considered the town rivalled more well known places like Windsor, Bath etc. We explored the town and also further afield but never more than an hours drive to York, Filey, RSPB Bempton Cliffs, Bridlington, Hull and lots of Wolds Villages. There are plenty of great outdoor (seaside, cliffs, Skidby Windmill, walks) and indoor activities (like The Deep aquarium, or the National Railway Museum, Beverley leisure centre for swimming) on damper days. We did it all !!

The Pipe and Glass Inn was an amazing meal out, in the next village South Dalton, just 5 mins drive, was the best meal we had in ages. It deserves its accreditations.

We would love to return at another time of year and stay again. I would heartily recommend the cottage to friends.
