About this property

Casa Canne is half of an artistically renovated farmhouse. It is Situated in a fertile green farmlands surrounded by pomegranate and eucalyptus trees, overlooked by Monte Idu and only 2 kilometres from the beaches and Marina and close to the Village of Teulada. The property comprises of one double bedroom twin or (super kingsize bed) and one bedsit with twin or double bed option and kitchenette with hob ,oven and fridge. There is a large covered terrace with soft cushioned seating and large dining table, barbeque area with pizza oven ( for budding Chefs) There is a swimming pool which is shallow depth all over ! ( It is not fenced off ) .This situation is ideal for chilling out and relaxing on the terrace with sundowners or for the active It is wonderful for cycling trips and walking and sightseeing, fishing trips or a trip on a sailing boat from the marina. If you are looking for night life ,this is not the place for you !
There is an outdoor shower and utility room with washing machine and toilet. Bicycles can be rented in the next village St Anna Aressi . It's a perfect distance to the beach with only a small hill on the way! Local restaurants go from incredibly cheap pizzas and pastas to a bit more pricy Gianni's fish restaurant ( it's worth it). Wine from the local Cantinas Santadi and Mesa, is excellent and on tap or in bottles available from all the local shops. The prices will pleasantly surprise you. Porto Tramazu beach has a beach bar ,sun beds and water sport options.
The outdoor area will be private to Casa Canne . We do not rent our part of the house .
We , the owners , may be in our part of the house , sometimes . We are very discrete and keep a low profile and will not use the pool while you are there .

Outstanding

A outstanding place set in stunning grounds, we had 2 blissful weeks and could easily have done 3 ! The lady who pops by to remove rubbish ( Silvana ) is fantastic and could not be more friendly and helpful, hopefully we will be able to return soon x

A rural delight

Loved this property and its peaceful, fairly remote location. The house itself is very well equipped (even a kettle) and tastefully furnished. A dish drying rack would be useful. Very comfortable bed without that awful gap down the middle which exists all too often abroad. Lovely bedlinen and towels, including beach / pool towels. The pool was heavenly and we were not disturbed by anyone coming to skim it, which we would happily have done ourselves if there had been a net. We took the leaves and bugs off by hand when we were in the water. The only issue we had with the pool was the frequency of filtering, which was noisy and seemed to take place when we wanted to sit quietly beside it reading during the day or having a drink in the evening. Perhaps the timer needed tweaking. The grounds are extensive and very private, only spoiled one evening by a gardener who turned up around 7pm and started to strim with a very loud petrol strimmer. I asked him politely if he could come back another evening when we wouldn't be there and he was fine about it. (A lack of any Italian language could have been very difficult both with this and with shopping etc as very few locals spoke English.) We were disappointed by the eating opportunities, as many places recommended in the property's info folder were closed in late June. Vegetarians beware too - a very disappointing choice everywhere, but for fish eaters it was great. The supermarkets were hard to find and quite empty. It was too hot and too far to walk to restaurants / shops / beaches. The beaches were disappointing, again quite far away and either covered with rows of sunbeds (not to our taste) or very seaweed-covered (the dry stuff which sticks to you). As we were only there for a week we felt we spent too much time trying to find a good place to swim and paddle board. It was nicer to stay by the pool. Not as easy to find the place as it sounds in the directions, partly because the church is not visible from the road, but once you find it along a dusty track it is almost perfect. I'd go again!

Quiet, restful, comfortable stay

The garden and location exceeded our expectations and the verandah was huge and comfortable with lots of sitting out and dining areas. We loved the pool. We were there when the other apartment was empty, and it was lovely to have it to ourselves

Quiet Location

We stayed in this lovely renovated farmhouse for one week.Its quiet location,beautiful garden and superb pool made our holiday- An ideal place to relax.The proximity to lovely beaches and shops and restaurants in Teulada was a real bonus.We would certainly recommend the Agriturismos only a short drive away.

Jimmy is design consultant based in London . Judy is Irish ,originally from Northern Ireland but settled
in Dublin. We mostly live in Dublin. We are both interested in interior design and really loved designing our old farmhouse in Teulada. We visit Teulada regularly and love the peace and quiet .

Why they chose this property

We are romantics! We sailed around Sardinia and just loved the Island and the people . We then returned for a cycle trip of the South West and were even more impressed. We spotted a house near Teulada marina , thinking this would be a good place to leave a boat . Later we then returned on a house search and amazingly the house opposite the one we had photographed was for sale . A years renovation turned out to a great experience with local architect,builders and the friends we had made from the purchase . We feel very lucky to have such a beautiful Casa in an amazing setting.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the authentic style of the old farmhouse . The amazing setting in the green valley looking at Monte Idu where we watch the sunset with a G&T or local vino on the terrace . The silence except for sheep bells , bird and animal noises . The donkey in the field by the old church keeps us amused talking to his friends in other fields ! The fact that there is no light pollution means that the sky is a wonder at night . (There is a phone app which tells you what the stars are called) The fact that we can not see any other houses makes for a totally private and romantic setting .
