A comfortable & spacious duplex situated only 50 meters from the cable car in the heart of the St Jean d'Aulps Station (La Grand Terche), where you can relax and put your feet up after a full day on the slopes. The apartment is situated on the third and top floor of the building and offers views over the village and slopes.

The lounge/dining room has direct access to a large, private balcony. Within the lounge, there is a corner sofa and extra chairs to relax on while watching a DVD (a large variety provided) on the flat screen TV, reading a book or surfing the internet (WiFi included).

The kitchen area has been completely refurbished and includes brand new appliances.The fully equipped kitchen leads you into a large lounge/dining room which has direct access to a private balcony.

There are 3 large bedrooms:

* Master bedroom (very spacious) - King-size bed plus day bed which can be converted into two single beds.

* Second bedroom (spacious) - One single bed plus a bunk bed with single on top and pull out double futon underneath.

* Third bedroom (compact!) - Queen-size bed and is the smallest of the three bedrooms.

All rooms have bedside tables and chest of drawers.

Main Bathroom - toilet & bath with shower:

The main bathroom has a large bath where you can soak away those bumps and bruises from the days adventures! Hot water is unlimited (water pressure is very good), a hair dryer is provided and a heated towel rail helps dry off damp clothes. There is also a washing machine and dryer available for use.

Downstairs Bathroom - Toilet & shower:

This has recently been refurbished to include a shower as well as toilet and sink.

We have a large, private 'cave'/ski locker in the basement to store skis, snowboards, boots, bikes etc. Within the apartment block we have outside parking and there is also a private garage space which can be used on request.

We feel that La Grande Terche ia a ski treasure in so many ways and the skiing there can be fabulous, so few people complete the circuit and realise the wonderful runs available on their doorstep. Access to the Porte Du Soleil is so easy providing you have a car and then of course the skiing is endless. We have skied this area for many, many years and still find new runs and restaurants!!



Concerning the apartment itself, we thought it terrific. Absolutely everything we could have wanted (except the stairs), it is warm, extremely comfortable and easy to live in, somewhere welcoming to come home too after a tiring day. All the facilities were good, we appreciated the space, we have stayed in some very small apartments in the area, this was so much nicer. Things seemed to be managed well and my contact with yourself has only been helpful and positive. These sorts of detail make a holiday a relaxing, enjoyable experience. Needless to say I hope to come again and would recommend your apartment to anyone.

Wonderful apartment in a spectacular location!

The apartment in Le Grande Terche was a real home from home in the most spectacular location in the small mountain side resort. It was very peaceful when we visited in August 2016 and every day you had fabulous views of the mountain peaks. The apartment itself was very well equipped including a selection of DVDs, board games and the Wii which the children loved!

Whilst the kitchen was small it was perfect for holiday catering and there was a plentiful supply of crockery and cutlery. There's a large comfy sofa with views onto the balcony and two of the three bedrooms were very spacious with plenty of drawer space. Having a second bathroom/shower was very handy too.

Within 20 minutes drive there are a variety of summer activities and we enjoyed using the cable car/lift system to explore the area with plenty of walking routes available from the Tourist Information office or in the basket of information that Tony left in the apartment. You can easily pop over to Switzerland (we did it on foot using the lifts but it would also be an easy drive by car).

Morzine and Les Gets are nice resorts with plenty of activities including swimming, high ropes and horse riding. There's lots of mountain biking opportunities although we didn't do this ourselves. We visited the goat village at Les Lindarets, Lac Montrimond, (the fabulous local lake where you can paddle board, canoe or swim), Avoriaz (where there's a great outdoor play area with a wide variety of free games for children of all ages to play e.g. chess, badminton, table tennis), the local Gorge and the medieval town, Yvoire, on the shores of Lake Geneva. There were places we just didn't get chance to visit so will certainly return to this area in the future.

Overall we had the most wonderful holiday and would thoroughly recommend both this apartment and the area. Tony was extremely helpful in the run up to our trip, answering questions and whilst we were there the local contact Sarah was really prompt in helping us too. Thank you both!

We hired a car at Geneva airport (the French side) and although we got slightly lost coming out of the airport when we arrived in Geneva, and then on the way back as they'd closed off some of the roads in the city that our sat nav wanted to take us down, overall it was a very easy journey from the airport to the apartment following the lake side road. You definitely need the freedom of having a car to make the most of a trip to the Portes du Soleil area.

Perfect

Just spent 3 weeks at this apartment, it's ideal for skiing as really close to cable car. The apartment is very comfortable as described and Tony could not have been more helpful. Our kids are 5 & 7 and St. Jean/Roc D'Enfer is an ideal place to start skiing and enough to do while they are in lessons. We will be back.

Great stay in a nice, cozy ski resort

We really enjoyed our stay at Tony & Claire's. The apartment was just like in the pictures (very nice, modern, comfortable, clean) less than a 5 min walk from the slopes. We rented ski's from the store next door, so no hassle at all! Although the apartment is on the 4th floor and there are no elevators, it does not really matter as the ski locker is in the basement. The ski area is small but still has lots of variety and was great for my 11 year old son as he could go off with his friend and ski together without being able to get lotst or me having to worry ;-) Two days of sunshine followed by one day of snow and then two more days of fresh snow and sunshine made for a perfect holiday!!! We really enjoyed going for dinner at Les Gets which is a very nice town close by with lots of restaurants.

Tony, you were great with all the time you took to answer all my questions :-) Sorry you get this review so late but obviously last time (back in March) something went wrong. We were thinking of coming back next February but I see on your site that unfortunately your place is already taken. I should have acted faster. We would definitely recommend your place to anyone looking for a great place to go ski in France.

Excellent skiing holiday

We stayed for the first time at this resort as it was recommend by friends.

The resort is ideal for a family and especially one like ours with 2 young beginners.

The resort is quite but has excellent ski facilities. We all had lessons at ESF which were excellent and the slopes were great. It snowed everyday we stayed and we had fantastic on and off piste conditions. Skiing was really a pleasure.

The apartment is excellently positioned and only a small walk to everything. The place really is a home from home with everything you could need in a week. All the rooms are spacious and well equipped, and the rooms are all nicely decorated with all mod cons including an excellent wifi network.

Everything is clean and well maintained.

The only thing we would change is the length of time we stayed and we will will be back next year!

Fantastic Family Holiday

Tony & Claire have set up a lovely apartment which is well equiped, comfortable, tastefully decorated and with plenty of room for a family. They were also extremely helpful with advice and answering any questions we had. St Jean d'Aulps retains much of its small-town character and the apartment really is only 30m from the cablecar. There is a nice deli and a great restaurant at your doorstop and a large Carrefour only 10 minutes away. While there are a great number of larger resorts nearby, we had an absolutely blast at St Jean d'Aulps with our two boys (ages 9 & 11). The Ecole du Ski Francais has consistently good instructors and the empty slopes outside of French School holidays are without parrallel. And, the 20km Roc D'Enfer circuit is simply breathtaking.

We have being skiing in La Grande Terche for the past 11 years and when it came to buying a home this was our first choice, nowhere else could offer us the same possibilities as here. We finally found the perfect apartment for us; light, airy and plenty of space. They say you know you have found the perfect home when you first walk in and this was definitely true for us. We have lots of plans and ideas for the apartment and have been working on some of these over the last few years. And instead of the apartment sitting empty throughout the ski year, we have decided to rent it out so others can experience some of the same magic and joy!
