St. Brendan's Catholic Church is here with weekly masses. Cloghane has 2 pubs both serving food and also traditional music. Up a narrow laneway to a gorgeous stone cottage with great views of Brandon Bay and area. Plenty of hiking to be done and pubs just a kilometer away. The owners were very nice. The drive over to Dingle through Connor Pass was breathtaking, and the scenery on the drive around the coast was incredible. If we could move here the cottage would not be available again!
My husband, son and I stayed at Wren's Cottage for 3 nights during our recent trip to Ireland (our first!), and the hardest part of the whole trip for me was leaving this amazing place! I can't say enough good things about this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a house in this part of Ireland. The home is beautiful and looks even better than in the photos! We were lucky enough to have good weather and were able to enjoy sitting outside in the front yard, overlooking the water and mountain views. Our son (18 months) had a blast looking for (and chasing) the friendly cat, and Janet and Eamonn provided a pack n'play for him which allowed us to be in separate bedrooms during our stay. The kitchen is stocked with all of the essentials and we enjoyed cooking a steak dinner one night! We especially loved making a peat fire in the evenings. The distance to Brandon (Murphy's is a must visit!) and Cloghane is short, and the Cottage was our home base for driving the Slea Head Drive and exploring Dingle. We weren't able to meet Janet, but Eamonn came by to check on us and we appreciated that very much. The cottage really felt like our Irish home for a few days, and I hope to return one day. If you are looking for a place to stay near Dingle, don't hesitate to reserve Wren's Cottage! We had a beautiful sunrise on our last morning, and I will never forget the views and the fun our family had at this lovely home. Thank you, Janet and Eamonn, for letting us experience life in the Cottage and for all of your hospitality!
A lovely house in the perfect location. We stayed in June with our two children who fell in love with the cat and neighboring sheep. Janet welcomed us on arrival and advised us on places to visit. Fermoyle beach and further up at Castlegegory were both big hits with miles of white sand to play on. The Connor Pass was breathtaking and the house is situated on some great walks such as Sauce Creek. A week flew by and we would love to come back sometime.
Having now returned from our wonderful two week trip to Ireland, my husband and I agree, our stay at Wren's Cottage was our favorite part of the trip. Sitting on a hillside with views of Brandon Bay below and nearly surrounded by stone wall - bordered sheep pastures, this lovely cottage gave us a welcome retreat from the bustling activity of Dingle, just over the hill. The inside is very cozy and clean. There are lots of personal touches that make it feel like home. The kitchen is very well equipped. There are great opportunities for walking/hiking right from the cottage. Our best advise is to recommend guests spend at least one day of their vacation just relaxing at the cottage and soaking up the pastoral peace; maybe just walk/bike/drive to nearby Mullally's Pub for some fabulous seafood chowder or fish and chips with the requisite pint.
Lovely traditional farmhouse, clean, mould-free and well kitted out, in a beautiful location with great views across Brandon Bay on one side and of the atmospheric mountains on the other. Our host Janet arrived promptly and gave us a warm welcome. The freshly baked fairy cakes left on the table were a nice touch and promptly eaten! Our kids were thoroughly smitten with the pair of resident lambs and three stay kittens that frequented the place! A most relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Our family spent a fantastic Christmas in Little wren cottage. The house is compact and cosy and was perfect for our family of 4,2 adults,2 teenagers and 1 dog.The cottage is comfortable well equipped and comes with WIFI which is a godsend with teenagers in bad weather. As someone who knows the area well I can say that this property is ideal for anyone touring the area or just for a relaxing holiday break. The cottage is close to all local amenities such as shop, bakery, beaches and pubs and with Janet and Eamonn on hand to assist with any queries I can heartily recommend the Cottage to anyone planning on visiting the Brandon/Cloghane area.
