Timbessie Barn in the village of Carperby, is a tastefully converted and beautifully decorated traditional stone built barn.
The accommodation is over two floors, accessed at street level via a path through a courtyard garden, enclosed by a traditional dry stone wall. The external steps are not used to access the barn, but are a lovely traditional feature of the old farm building.
On the ground floor there are two en-suite bedrooms (double and twin) a shower room and a hallway with plenty of room for outdoor clothing and muddy boots.
On the first floor there is a very welcoming lounge\dining room with triple aspect windows and fabulous views across Wensleydale. The room is fully equipped with a wood burning stove, comfortable sofa and occasional chairs, TV, DVD player, CD player and Internet. Perfect for a relaxing break or a cosy night in after a day of walking or exploring the area. The room also has a dining table for enjoying home cooking or fish and chips from the van that visits the village every Wednesday evening (around 7.30p.m.).
The first floor also has a beautifully decorated and well equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The dual aspect windows give a lovely view of the village and the Wheatsheaf pub that is about 200 metres along the road. An easy walk when you prefer to eat out rather than cook and eat in!
The fully enclosed courtyard area to the front of Timbessie Barn is an intimate area where you can sit out to eat, have a drink or just relax. It catches the sun from breakfast time through to evening from Spring to Autumn (unless it is raining!)
The barn also offers off-road parking in the adjacent, fully enclosed and gated, informal garden with a gravel track.
This informal garden is also a perfect place to enjoy the views across Wensleydale and set up a BBQ on the prepared paved area.
