Coastal property with comfortable ample apartments with terrace, wi-fi, heating

Country 120.000 m² finca with direct views to the sea, situated at La Matanza, only 9 minutes from Puerto de la Cruz, a tourist town full of amenities. This avocado plantation (they only use Biological products, not pesticides) is a charming corner to enjoy the peace and the views. The large 10 x 4 m pool (heated in winter up to 24ºC) is absolutely beautiful and the BBQ area with comfortable sofas invites you to spend nice evenings enjoying a meal and a glass of wine. There are only 4 one bedroom apartments (57m2) + 4 two bedroom apartaments (67m2) each with own entrance and terrace, with ample bedrooms and quality furniture.

Apartment description: The apartment A has its own terrace, 1 double bedroom, shower room, fully equipped kitchen, ample sitting room.

The apartment has WI-Fi, satellite TV, DVD, fully equipped kitchen has everything you need: washing machine, oven, vitro, toaster, coffee machine, etc.

General: Linen and towels provided. Outdoors: private 1000 m² wild garden with fruit trees (you can take some fruit if you wish). Recommended local restaurants: La Cuadra de San Diego. Environment: quiet area of coastal fincas, most of them vineyards, small plantation or private houses. Pets: not allowed. Local Sports: swimming, diving, golfing, cycling, fishing and walking. Special note: a car is recommended.

Muchas gracias por su archivo de recomendaciones que nos fue muy útil ( autopista para llegar al alojamiento, supermercado, helados, restaurantes , lugares de interés , ... ). Hemos seguido sus consejos, hemos ido a comer en el restaurante Casa Juan y lo pasamos muy bien!

Very well stocked apartment.

We found the apartment to be very well equipped with everything you could need for travelling with a toddler and a baby provided. The apartment was very comfortable whilst the swimming pool and barbecue areas were lovely. Great views of Teide and the ocean.

Very pleased overall, highly recommended

We have just returned from a 10 day holiday at Coastal Eco Avocado. The accommodation was very good overall, the apartment was nicely decorated and well supplied with everything we needed and more than enough room for the two of us. We required an iron + board and they kindly supplied one which was very helpful. The pre-visit information we were emailed prior to the visit was very useful and we used a number of recommendations for places to eat. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

Some areas for improvement:

- Supply a proper kettle

- Use quieter ceiling fans (ours were very noisy) which made sleeping someone difficult at times

- The safe was locked on arrival (lucky we had no use for it) but the instructions were poorly written on how to open it

- The apartment could do we a deeper clean and the floors and surfaces were generally filmed in dirt

- Supply beach towels for the pool

- Faster Wi-Fi (we got by with 2Mbps, so better than nothing :)

- Add a full length mirror

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your review. Yes, the apartments are very spacious (57 m2 the One bedroom ones and 67 m2 the Two bedroom ones) and the decoration is modern and nice. It is very inspiring that you followed our recomendations to eat on the área, you can find very good local simple restaurants in Tenerife, but they are quite hidden so we try that our clients have that information in advance. We are very grateful for your suggestions to improve, very useful indications. About the wi-fi, usually is quite correct, but sometimes go slowlier if the apartments are fully booked. Lovely tranquil location

Actually more beautiful than it looks in the photographs. Nothing better than relaxing in the pool and looking out to sea. We also made use of the patio/barbeque area some evenings for a supper with a view.

The bungle was spacious, clean and felt like home from home.

It was not too hot here in the mountains so perfect for our baby. Also, a great little playground in the main plaza in puerto de la cruz. We stayed in puerto de la cruz some days and drove down to the beach other days. The sea lion show at parquet loro was very popular with us. My favourite day was at Casa de Vino, who had a jazz show that night (obviously didn't go with my baby but wished I could).

Overall, perfect for a relaxing family holiday, especially if you want to be able to do things in the day because its not too hot early June.

Wonderful holiday

Beautiful self catering apartments on a lovely farm, accurately described in owner's website. Spotlessly clean an simply furnished apartment with well equipped kitchen. Everything worked as it should with the exception of the shower which had poor water pressure and handpiece that would not sit properly on its rail. Unsuccessful attempt made to fix it. On arrival we were visited by Henrique the owner who spent a good while chatting and ensuring that we would be comfortable. We have stayed here previously and enjoyed all it had to offer, especially the rural location, wonderful views of the Atlantic and El Teide from the garden but, most of all, the peace and quiet. If that's what you would like to have then I heartily recommend Finca San Diego for your visit to Tenerife North.

Comfortable hideaway from the tourists

Everyone through the whole supply chain was most helpful - agency, housemaid, owner. The information given in advance was very helpful and the apartment was exactly as shown. Although the place is only hundreds of metres from the main road there is little road noise (as the hillside drops away fast). The views across the sea are great and the swimming pool well protected from any wind by the glass screen. The bowl of help-yourself home-grown fruit in the poolside area (grapefruit & banana) was a lovely touch. The apartment is well equipped and - a great boon - well heated, as it was pretty cold when we were there in Feb. The location was good for exploring the northern coastline, which we did thoroughly from Buenavista del Norte to Puerto de Hidalgo (& San Andres). I would recommend it for all who like to keep away from the high rise package hotels.

Nice and peaceful, but not quite 5 star

Our family spent 8 nights in this nice property during new year.

The location is peaceful, but still quite comfortably near e.g to Puerto de La Cruz, La Laguna and Santa Cruz.

The heated pool was warm enough to swim, and the barbecue area was nice!

The apartment is quite spacious and just like in the pictures. The heating was also useful during the cool new year nights.

We felt that the apartment would have been even more cosy & homelike if there would have been a bit more color and decoration, more lamps, mirrors and perhaps other finishing decorative details.

Enrique & Rosa & Ana were really responsive and friendly.

We experienced some issues during booking and our stay

- the homeaway listing states "accepts credit card" but that was valid only for the deposit. The actual rent had to be paid in cash (or in advance wire transfer).

- hot water takes quite long time (initially we thought it did not work at all), lot of shower water wasted while waiting, which is a bit shame in an island suffering with water shortage.

- internet connection was unstable very slow most of the time during our stay. Enrique reported this to the provider so hopefully he gets a solution for this issue.

Yes, having a heated pool that guarantees a swim on January is a good advantage, also having a house with heating (which is very rare to find in Tenerife, as our houses are not prepared for temperatures under 20ºC) . The delay on having hot water only hapens on that apartment on particular. We have tried to solve it in many ways, but it has not been posible. The only solution is to wait 4 minutes for hot water. The internet is working well now, thank you for letting us know, the internet provider had to do some adjustments. Best wishes and thank you again!!

This coastal area is situated on one of the most beautiful areas of Tenerife, with all the views to the sea and surrounded by vineyards that offers local simple restaurants with local wine and excellent typical dishes at very good prices, out of the tourist areas. It is the best place to enjoy soft temperatures all year round, as it is situated on the coast, and having easy access to all the interest attractions, as Mountain Teide, hidden beaches, quiet plazas and the long sea avenues of Puerto de la Cruz only 12 minutes from there.
