Tastefully renovated in 2004, Le Clos d'Isand'Or combines beauty of the old with comfort and luxury of modernity. Enjoy breakfast on your terrace with view of the vineyards, or shielded from the summer heat inside the old stone walls. Take a dip into the magnificent heated swimming pool - unless a beautiful chimney fire and sauna are more apt for the season. Sleep under old wooden beams in the artistically decorated and tastefully furnished comfortable rooms, and discover the great wines & rich culture of Burgundy. Le Clos d’Isand’Or consists of three independent properties, the traditional “Maison de Maître”, the romantic “Maisonette”, & the loft-style “Vieille Cuverie.'

Le Clos d'Isand'Or - Vacation for everybody: Le Clos d'Isand'Or is very children friendly, and in addition to a small playground and various toys also provides the necessary for babies / small children (baby bed, bathtub, children chair, etc). Guests of the Clos d'Isand'Or have free access to the pool, the sauna, as well as to the 'Buandry' with its washing machine and laundry drier. In general possibility to bring well-behaved pets, but obligation for consultation with the owners beforehand.

Le Clos d'Isand'Or - fun for everybody: Large garden. Each property has its own private garden space with garden furniture and barbecue. Spacious heated swimming pool (14m x 5m) private to the Clos d'Isand'Or (i.e. completely private for rental of the whole Clos d'Isand'Or, possibly shared with other guests of the Clos d'Isand'Or otherwise). Furniture for sunbathing around the swimming pool, as well as toys for playing in the pool are equally provided. The swimming pool is in an enclosed area, so that - provided the doors are closed - small children cannot access it by their own. The pool can in addition also be protected by an automatic cover.

Fully equipped modern American kitchen (include dishwasher, microwave Nesspresso) Two king-size double bedrooms on mezzanines(!) - visual separation possible with medieval-style curtains, but acoustical separation limited. We just wanted to say what a fabulous holiday we have enjoyed at your property in Meursault. It is in a wonderful position with glorious views over the countryside, the kitchen is a dream and the pool and gardens were ideal for us all, but especially the children. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had!

Perfect holiday in beautiful surroundings

We very much enjoyed our week in La Vieille Cuverie in the Clos d'Island d'Or in Meursault. We know the region very well so we knew in advance that choosing this holiday cottage in this perfect location would be like one week in paradise ! Surrounded by famous vineyards, quitly located in the rolling wine hills, but close enough to the village so that you can even walk to the restaurants and not be afraid to drink and drive. Hiking trails start from your doorstep and are well marked. Getting croissants and crispy baguette takes only 5 minutes by car ! Beaune centre with its numerous gastronomy shopping is close by and Veuve Ambal factory/shop is our favourite stop for Crémant de Bourgogne. In the Cave of Saint-Aubin you can buy affordable white wine which is as much smooth of taste like the more expensive Puligny-Montrachet, because its wine parcels are next to it. Beautiful Châteauneuf-en-Auxois above the canal de Bourgogne is only 35 km by autoroute and is a step into the past. Nearby take a stroll by the canal in Vaudenesse-en-Auxois and you have a different Burgundy landscape not far from Meursault. L'episode in Meursault less than 10 minutes on foot is a new, modern restaurant where East meets West and where they skip the traditional cuisine and put their focus on fusion. We enjoyed the weather, the neighbouring guests, the swimming pool, the view every morning out of the bedroom window towards the picturesque village of Auxey-Duresses. There is a walk from Volnay to Pommard and back which is outstanding. The walk from the statue of Saint-Christophe above the hill in Meursault is very nice. There are walks in every nearby village and they are all worthwhile. We will come back !

Schönes Haus, aber Achtung bei der Beschreibung

Das Haus ist sehr schön gelegen und die Betreuung vor Ort (Elizabeth) war sehr gut. Die beiden Schlafzimmer im OG sind nur durch Vorhänge getrennt - das war zuvor nicht ersichtlich und sollte klar dargestellt werden. Auch der Aufenthalt mit Hund ist nicht einfach, da das Gelände nicht umzäunt ist. Wir hatten schon sehr viel bessere Häuser in diesem Preissegment.

Unser Anliegen ist es, potentiellen Gaesten das Clos d' Isand' Or moeglichst praezise zu erklaeren, und dafuer sind Ihre konstruktiven Anmerkungen sehr hilfreich. Die Idee des Clos d‘Isand’Or ist eine Oeffnung auf die wunderbare Landschaft der umliegenden Weinberge. In diesem Sinne sind wohlerzogene Haustiere gerne willkommen, das grosse Grundstuck ist aber in der Tat nicht auf allen Seiten durch hohe Mauern abgeschlossen, um den Gaesten zu erlauben, visuell von den umliegenden Weinbergen zu profitieren. Es tut uns sehr leid wenn die Konfiguration des Alten Winzerhauses nicht Ihren Erwartungen entsprach, wir dachten aber diese moderne Loft-Style Konfiguration mit sehr grosszuegigem visuellem Raum und sehr hohen Decken klar auf der Webseite erklaert und durch die Bilder dokumentiert zu haben („ Die Alte Weinkelterei mit ihrem Loft-Style betont besonders den Gegensatz von Modernität und Historischem, die dem Clos d’Isand’Or seinen raffinierten Charme und seine rare Eleganz verleiht... Zwei Schlafzimmer mit großen Doppelbetten auf Mezzaninen (!) - vollständige visuelle Abtrennung möglich, aber akustische Abtrennung limitiert.“ ) Wir werden versuchen dies - und insbesondere die visuelle Abtrennung der Mezzanine der Alten Weinkelterei durch mittelalterliche Vorhaenge - noch klarer auf der Webseite darzustellen.

Nice house in a beautiful countryside

The house itself is good and nice. Large garden, but with a very small terrace for lunch/dinner etc. Large kitchen and bathroom. Place is perfect to walk, cycle and drive around the Bourgogne region. Owners and care-takers are very friendly and helpful.

The only negative is the bedrooms, more the fact there aren't bedrooms. The beds are on open places on the vide, separated by curtains. This means that for the noise everyone has to go to sleep at the same time. Regarding these "bedrooms", the house is perfect for 2 persons, I would not recommend it for 4 (as we were with two kids at the age of 18.)

Very comfortable.

We had a great stay with 6 friends The house is situated at walking distance from the centre of Meursault. We enjoyed the BBQ, pool, wine and sauna. A highly recommendable place for pleasure hunters.

Meursault is a charming winegrower's village, world famous among wine lovers for its white wines. Surrounded by vineyards it is idyllically situated in the valley, in close vicinity to other famous wine villages as Pommard or Volnay. Beaune, the capital of Burgundy red wine, is also just nearby (7 km). But not only for wine lovers is Burgundy a dream. Both for gourmets and culturally interested is Burgundy a must (the Abbey of Fontenay - listed in the UNESCO World heritage - is only one site among many worth seeing). Finally, Meursault is also very conveniently located, as two major European motorways cross not far from Beaune.
