The outdoor area of Evita’s Home promises you tranquil and relaxing moments. Nature lovers will definitely enjoy having their meals in the outdoor dining area, under the shade of a pergola. The outdoor space is equipped with sun beds, giving the opportunity to sunbathe all day long while reading your book. At evenings you will have many opportunities to enjoy the sunset while having a glass of wine or a cocktail. Additionally, BBQ facilities and wood oven are provided outdoors in order for you to enjoy the garden all day long while preparing tasteful meals!

Furthermore, our little guests will definitely appreciate the outdoor playground, which promises unlimited hours of fun and enjoyment!

Entering the house you will find yourselves in the kitchen and living room area. The living room area is decorated with colorful touches and consisting of an armchair and a sofa, where one more guest can be accommodated. Watch your favorite movies and spend relaxing time with your family. An open fireplace can also be found creating cosy and chill vibes. The kitchen is totally functional and fully-equipped with all the basic facilities in order for you to prepare your daily meals.

Last but not least a double bedroom can be found next to the living room, featuring air - condition and a smart TV as well! Moreover, a lovely bathroom with a glass shower cabin is available.

Location Overview:

Evita's Home is beautifully located close to Platania and just a 10 minute drive from Rethymno town. Not to mention that Evita’s Home is situated in an absolutely private area with olive groves and also providing spectacular sea views. The long sandy beach is located just 2 km away.

Shopping facilities for your everyday need can be found in Platania, such as a bakery, an ATM machine, a petrol station, a pharmacy, as well as well stocked super markets.

A short scenic drive through the olive groves will lead you to the historic village of Maroulas, which is built on top of a hill at an altitude of 240 meters and has been classified as a preserved and traditional heritage site of great cultural value. For this reason, the construction of new buildings should be carried out with the cooperation of the archaeological department.

The Venetian influence is very obvious in this area, as most of the buildings date back to at least the Venetian era, when two towers, which are still present today, and other buildings with loopholes, were built. The visitor can also admire numerous cisterns, serpentine narrow streets, chimneys and large arched stone doors of Venetian mansions all around the village, as well as an old oil press. In summer you might as well appreciate the rare and unique aroma of herbs and flowers, the sound of the natural spring water and the shadow of the giant plane trees!

Also, worth visiting is the church of Prophet Elias at the top of the hill, which offers panoramic view of the village and the Cretan Sea and gorge. In the village there is a feast in honour of Prophet Elias on the 20th of July.

As you walk around in Maroulas, you travel back in time in times very different from our own and the scenery brings you images of princesses, forbidden loves, white horses and dragons…apart from the dragons, the rest might be true!
