Lovely 4 Bedroom Seaside House Overlooking St Mawes Harbour

Overview

Property

Updated: 27-Sep-2016
Perfect Family House With Sunny Terrace, Great Sea Views, Just Above The Beach

The Summer House is a lovely four bedroom seaside house just above St Mawes harbour. It has fantastic sea views across the bay. Downstairs the dining area is in the bay window overlooking the sailing activity on the water. The cottage is very light and airy with a New England beach house style of decorations and furniture. There are four double bedrooms, two with sea views (one with balcony), one with French doors to the garden, and a smaller single/double. There is a bathroom and two separate shower room and an additional loo.

Outside is a sunny sheltered terrace for outside dining with wonderful sea views, and a spacious light and airy summer house - an extra sitting room in the garden! There is a pretty garden behind the house, with winding steps leading to a small lawn and upper terrace - again with lovely views over the harbour and over Falmouth Bay towards the Lizard.

The Summer House is close to the centre of the village with beaches, rock pools, the harbour, sailing and kyak hire all near by. It is approached off the seafront up a gentle path with some steps.

As with almost all the houses off the seafront in St Mawes you can park to unload, or stay overnight, and then keep your car in one of the two village car parks nearby.

Lovely house, gorgeous views!

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at The Summer House a few times now, a couple just the two of us and more recently with our 4 month old and have had thoroughly enjoyed each stay!

The house is clean, light, spacious and has everything you'd need (including travel cot and high chair for those with little ones) and yet still has a lovely cosy feel to it, so that it feels like a home away from home.

The views from the house over the harbour are stunning, you won't get bored of waking up to them.

St. Mawes has everything you'd need from day to day, nice gift shops, great little bakery and you can easily travel to Truro by car or grab the ferry over to Falmouth, which we've done a few times, Falmouth is great for a walk around.

Would highly recommend The Summer House and hope to visit again in the future.

Lovely home with beautiful sea views

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home in the beautiful location of St Mawes. Fresh New England style with a summer house in the garden ideal for young children to play safely or teenagers to spend time out from their parents. We love St Mawes and don't feel the need for a car as happy to spend the time enjoying the pleasures of beachcombing, crabbing, kayaking etc with the occasional ferry trip to Falmoth incredibly relaxing family holiday with some lovely restaurants , particularly enjoyed an early morning coffee outside the St Mawes Hotel after collecting the fresh bread and croissants from the local bakery.

A little house by the sea

  • 5 of 5

Nestling in between the white houses of St Mawes this happy little house takes the biscuit .Extremely comfortable and well equipped It is a sanctuary from the hot beach and sailing days and yet also provides a warm cosy environment when the weather is not quite so kind .St Mawes is treasure trove of little beaches and restaurants and bars and shops to suit all holiday requirements within a safe environment .I cannot recommend this property more highly.

Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

This is a delightful place. The cottage is bright, clean, and tastefully furnished. There are amazing views over the bay from the downstairs dining area and the two front bedrooms. St. Mawes is charming, and there's plenty to do in the wider area if you have a car. (We were there in late April, so the traffic was not bad.) We would definitely recommend this property to friends.

Views to die for!

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week in the Summer House which has some of the best views we have ever woken up to. The house had everything for our family and St Mawes is so lovely we will remember it forever. There are plenty of amenities in the village for day to day but if you want to explore Cornwall you are a little off the beaten track. There is a good foot ferry service to Falmouth if you are brave enough! The day we travelled the sea was a bit choppy! All in all a good holiday experience.
