Great place to stay
What a wonderful well equipped, comfortable, self contained gite. It has a beautiful setting in the countryside with wonderful views. Would not hesitate in recommending the gite to anyone thinking of a holiday in this area. The owners Heather and Trevor are so hospitable and very helpful. They are there to help in anyway if you need them but respect your privacy.

a great experience of France
The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The self-contained accommodation has a wonderful ambience, provides all that you need including being spacious, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen andin a quiet area. Spacious garden to enjoy relaxing outside in the sunshine. It was very mild in October. The location is very quiet in the middle of lovely countryside. Larger villages not far away for shopping, markets and exploring.. Good local restaurant nearby. Need your own car for exploring. Would recommend to anyone.

Delightful stay in the foothills of the French Pyrenees
So much to tell. For a rural French gite, the house is very well outfitted. All bedding and linens are supplied, and the kitchen is fully equipped with excellent crockery and cutlery. Your host, Heather Bowman-Taylor, lives in a separate wing of the property and is very tactful about respecting your privacy. Most days we forgot she even lived there. Heather also has quite the green thumb, and I can’t stress enough how much we enjoyed taking in the distance view from the benches in the very well maintained garden, replete with fruit bearing trees. If you are so inclined, you might want to get to know Heather a bit. A philosopher friend once remarked to me, “you know, it’s the same woman who runs the B&B everywhere in the world.” Not so Heather. She is unfailingly helpful with any problems that arise during your stay and she clearly has a gene for hospitality. She is always willing to go the extra distance for her guests. Suffice it to say, I now can imagine what it must be like to have Dame Judi Dench as a landlady. In any case, we would recommend this gite without hesitation to anyone who wants a dignified and tranquil getaway, at a very fair price, in the French Pyrenees. We’ll return for sure.

About the host

My husband and I retired and came to France in August 2010. Previously we had a holiday home in Gironde, between Bordeaux and Bergerac, but as we wanted to have a gite and chambres d'hotes we bought this gorgeous property in the Midi Pyrenees. Sadly my husband died in 2014, but I have decided to carry on our project for the gite and B & B rooms.
The house is lovely, an old farmhouse with oak beams and columbage throughout, and is a superb combination of original features and all modern comforts. The gite forms a separate wing with its own entrance so that visitors can be as independent as they wish, but I am on hand to offer help and advice if needed. My husband and I wanted to be able to share the beauty and tranquility of our own slice of paradise with our guests, and we have worked hard to provide an attractive and extremely well resourced home-from-home. Unlike most local gites, where you have to bring absolutely everything with you, there is a huge amount provided for you: a welcome pack of croissants, bread, butter, eggs, jam, orange juice, tea, coffee and wine plus olive oil, herbs, condiments, toilet and kitchen rolls, soaps as well as all bed linen and towels. There are ample pots, pans, roasting dishes etc to cook full meals and the private gite offers a very large gas barbecue for outdoor feasts. We want everyone to feel this is their own home for the time they are staying here, and I continue to strive to provide this for all.

Why they chose this property

The property is gorgeous, steeped in character but at the same time extremely comfortable & well equipped. It is situated in a great location, in easy reach of the mountains, The Gers, Haute Garonne, Toulouse, Lourdes etc. The garden is lovely, so much so that many choose to just stay in it all day! The village is quiet but welcoming and is the perfect place to relax & recharge batteries. There are lovely walks straight out of the gates, or you can borrow one of 2 bikes for gentle countryside cycling. Visitors comment on how well they sleep at night because it is so quiet - and because the mattresses are great!

What makes this property unique

Visitors to the gite always say it is like a home-from-home. It is beautifully decorated with many thoughtful touches which make it such a great place to stay. Also, the extra provisions, such as bedding, towels, tea towels, a very generous welcome pack, herbs, spices, olive oil, picnic hamper, cool boxes etc knock it out of the water compared to many French gites.
