Superb modern holiday apartment just 100 metres from beach and centre
Two bedroom, ground floor, waterside holiday apartment (sleeps 4-6 with sofa bed). The apartment is modern and bright and maintained to the highest order. Extremely well equipped, it is perfect for either vacation rental or shorter breaks for family and friends. The 20 square metre private terrace with a view along the canal to the port tower is perfect for just relaxing at the waterside. Alternatively you can try out the communal roof terrace (accessed by elevator and stairs) which is perfect for dawn to dusk sunbathing and in addition has great views along the sandy bay to the town of Roses. Located in a peaceful side street close to the seafront, the apartment is ideally located for the sandy beach, excellent restaurants, supermarket and numerous shops and bars, as well as the Saturday market, all of which are just moments away. We truly believe this to be the best location in town, with everything you need within a short walk. The apartment comes with private parking for one car.
Travel by Air: Ryan Air fly from Stansted and other regional airports to Girona. Ryan Air also flies to Perpignan airport in France and it is only a slightly longer journey than Girona airport to the apartment. You should check with car rental companies at Perpignan whether there is an insurance surcharge to take their car into Spain.
Easy Jet has a number of existing routes to Barcelona from other UK destinations including the new Southend airport which started in the spring of 2012.
Journey time by car from Barcelona airport is 2 hours.
Why not go by Train?: If you are travelling from the UK you can take the Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord. From there, two stops on the metro will take you to Paris Gare de Lyon from where you can now travel to Figueras Vilafant Rail Station by TGV in just 5 1/2 hours. The price varies depending on month of travel and can be comparative to air travel costs but you are not limited by luggage weight so if you can lift it, you can take it. From Figueras a 15 minutes taxi takes you to the apartment.
Travel by Road: The majority of our guests are French and they mostly travel by car. From Calais, the motorway route will take about twelve hours, allowing for several driving breaks and is less than 800 miles. The motorways are toll roads so factor the costs into your journey plans. The speed limit is 120 km/h (75mph). If you wish to take more time, and arrange a route with an overnight stop or two you can avoid some tolls and enjoy the beautiful French countryside, towns and villages. We are happy to offer suggestions if you wish.

Sitting on the terrace in the cool of a summer morning, looking along the canal to the Alberes Mountains is so relaxing. Whenever I'm longing to get back to my apartment, that is what I think about.

Excellent appartment, near to everything in town that you would need, bars and restaraunts 2 minutes away, very nice view from the balcony and a great sun terrace.

Great waterfront apartment.
Nice, clean apartment. Excellent location for all ameneties - 200 metres from beach. Lovely terrace with loads of space - great for relaxing with a drink. Doors from both living room and main bedroom open directly onto terrace and there are some steps down to the jetty where 4 yachts are moored.
Parking space comes with apartment - ideal if arriving by car.
Rooftop terrace has great views.
Ample utensils and crockery etc. in the kitchen area which is small but easily manageable.
Communication from the owner was excellent - we had several questions about the property and the surrounding area which were answered promptly and accurately.
Emuriabrava is very nice. Take a walk along the little bridges connecting the canals from Carrer Falconera to the Aerodrome. Nice beaches nearby - as well as Empuriabrava's beach there is a pleasant walk towards Roses on the beach to the north of the Marina inlet and Roses beach itself is very good.
There is a good variety of restaurants for all tastes - all within walking distance of the apartments.
The owner also provides a list of nearby attractions you may want to visit.
The only downside in the apartment was the small capacity water boiler which takes a long time to reheat , for example, after a bath has been drawn. TV could do with an upgrade.
Would certainly recommend this apartment - I don't think you will be disappointed.
Pleasant marina setting
The owner's response from our initial enquiry to follow up was faultless. The apartment is located on the ground floor and faces the Marina - a lovely setting for meals and relaxing. There is convenient off street parking and the apartment itself is well maintained and clean. We were met by the owner's representative for key handover and she gave a brief run down on the area.
Location is convenient , within a few hundred metres of the beach, walking distance to a range of restaurants, the supermarket is conveniently located and the greater country area is easily accessible by car. Getting out into the small villages is strongly recommended.
The second bedroom is a tight squeeze but overall the 4 adults in the house had no problems finding space to sit and relax - the patio area makes the apartment 'quite roomy'.
The apartment is much better than in the pictures, clean , tidy, excelent placed in the village, near the beach and the city center.
Ampuriabrava, and all the Costabrava are excelent places to stay on holidays

Apartment in Empuriabrava
We spent a week in July (myself, husband and kids aged 7 and 9) in the Empuriabrava apartment and thought it was very good value for money. The pictures on the website don't really do it justice as the terrace is bigger than it looks and right on the waterfront. The apartment was clean and well-maintained. The booking was straightforward and we had no difficulty getting the keys to the apartment. The location was excellent with shops, restaurants and the beach easy walking distance, but with no noise once we were inside for the night. We had great fun sitting by the water at the back of the apartment feeding the fish and would recomend hiring a boat to explore the waterways. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

The description of the property was accurate and we were impressed with the high standards of the apartment. It was very nicely done and not the usual basic interior you come to expect from some holiday apartments!
I was 24 weeks pregnant whilst on holiday and was looking for a place to relax and this was it! Very close to everything you would need (especially nice to be able to walk to the beach), but also nice to just sit on the sun terrace and watch the boats on the canal.
Very good customer service from both the owner and their housekeeper in Spain. Very easy to arrange to receive the keys and check out. Received my deposit back swifty from the owners on our return.
Would recommend this delightful apartment to friends and family.

Activity and Interests
Located on the Costa Brava, Empuriabrava, or Ampuriabrava as it is also known is a purpose built beach resort town developed around a system of salt water canals fed by the waters of the Mediterranean. There is no package tourism and the resort attracts the more independent minded tourist. The resort has a broad range of activities catering for all ages. There are 9 championship golf courses within a one hour drive, the nearest at Peralada (15 minutes drive) which also has a casino. The Aqua Brava water park which boasts the largest wave pool in Spain is just 10 minutes away. The beautiful city of Girona is 40 minutes away and the Salvador Dali museum in Figueras just 15 minutes. Perpignan and the beaches of the Languedoc are 45 minutes drive. A similar distance south is La Bisbal (ceramics), Pals and Peratallada (medieval towns for arts & crafts) as well as numerous sandy coves and beaches of the southern Costa Brava. Barcelona city is 1:45 hours by car, or 90 minutes by rail ( fast train from Figueras).

Golf: There are no less than nine 18 hole golf courses including Championship courses within a one hour drive of Empuriabrava. The nearest is at Perelada (golfperelada.com) just 15 minutes drive. There is a pitch & putt course on the outskirts of Empuriabrava just a 5 minute drive on the back road to Castell Empuries (castellopitchandputt.com). TENNIS: There are also a number of tennis courts in the town.

High season bookings will run from Saturday to Saturday with minimum duration of one week.
The apartment will be prepared ahead of your visit and cleaned following your departure which includes the laundering of one set of bedding per bed. These costs are included in the rental price for stays of one week or more. Additional bedding is available at the apartment for your comfort but you must not leave more than one soiled set of bedding per bed used. Additional laundering costs will be retained from your security deposit.
Stays of less than 7 nights are available during the spring and autumn season dates shown but will incorporate the full charge for housekeeping so will be proportionally higher than the 7 nights cost. The price quoted by the rental site should be used only as a guide and are not binding upon the rental agreement.
All bookings require a refundable security deposit of €150 or £100 for sterling clients. Fuller terms are contained in the rental contract.
We accept payments in both sterling and euros. Euro payments are by bank transfer only. Sterling payments can be made by bank cheque or bank transfer. A deposit of 20-25% will secure your reservation subject to the contract terms which will be provided upon confirmation of your booking.

- The kitchenette is equipped with a toaster, coffee maker, multi-function microwave/convector oven/grill and kettle for tea lovers. The kitchen has a two ring ceramic hob and fridge freezer. There are full laundry facilities within the apartment including washing machine, airer, ironing board and iron. There is a vacuum cleaner and a selection of cleaning materials. There should be a change of bedding available but if used you must launder the soiled sets to avoid housekeeping charges. There is a portable electric heater in the apartment for use as necessary.
