Our villa Casa Cathcal is a legally registered rental property with the Portuguese Ministry of Tourism licence number 15038/AL which gives clients the security they are renting the only legal way and can check they are renting off the owner not a website scam.To give both the clients and ourselves added security we never take a booking or deposits until we have spoken in person with the people who are requesting to rent our villa.So if it is a serious request give us your telephone contact and we will call you.

This spacious single storey villa now has a very high spec insulation system both internal and external giving great comfort for both winter and summer. There is hi tech air conditioning in all bedrooms,lounge & kitchen which is included in the rental costs. The villa accommodation comprises 2 double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms,1 twin bedded room with en-suite shower room and the 4th bedroom is twin bedded with a separate full bathroom. The well furnished lounge/dinning room has UK SKY SATELLITE TV, DVD ,Hi-Fi ,Wi-Fi ADSL availability.The spacious fully fitted kitchen with large breakfast table is equipped with all modern appliances. The large pool with a child section can be heated at an agreed cost before arrival is set inside a gated CHILD SAFETY FENCING system,there is an extensive patio area surrounded by walled gardens for privacy, also in this area is a poolside WC/laundry with wash/mc for clients use. Outside the kitchen is a superb covered BBQ area with a fixed lunch/dinning table set under an awning which is electrically controlled to give whatever shading is required, an ideal spot for al fresco dining. There is both security & fire alarm systems in the villa,a floor safe and access to the property is through electronic security gates with key pad codes. All windows have triple glazing with a ventilation setting,internal Venetian blinds and mosquito nets

THE CASA CATHCAL POOL /PATIO AREA HAS BEEN COMPLETELY RE-FURBISHED .It now has the additions of CHILD SAFETY POOL FENCING both fixed and removable giving the facility for parties with non swimmers/children to isolate access to the pool.NEW pool lighting,wall/garden lighting,patio tiling is all surrounded by walled and hedged gardens making it a totally enclosed and secure private property.It is accessed from the exterior through electronic gates with coded key pads along with a telephone intercom system. The good size patio/garden area is to the south side so it gets the sun all day and this is where the superb full size heated swimming pool is situated. The pool itself has a internal walled off section which is very shallow and ideal for supervised children and non swimmers.There are ample top quality sun loungers,sun umbrellas,additional tables/chairs plus other equipment on the surrounding patio area,including NEW poolside external shower alongside the NEW outside laundry/WC,complete with washing machine and sink solely for clients use.To the side of the pool area is a large covered barbecue, it is adjacent to the kitchen making it a fabulous spot for Al-fresco meals around the fixed tiled table which itself can be under an electrically controlled awning giving a superb shaded eating area.In fact during the summer months it is ideal for every meal time having hosted not only BBQ but dinner parties as well. A short walk takes you to bars,restaurants,supermarket.

Villa interior lounge/dinning/kitchen: The Cathcal is fitted to a very high standard ,the air conditioned lounge/dinning room has ample sofas,armchairs.stools,full size dinning table and chairs for 8 adults.There is our own SKY TV package in the villa giving SKY SPORTS SKY MOVIES plus the numerous other channels sky transmit all operated through our personal SKY CARD which we will leave for clients use after prior agreement with ourselves.From early 2014 the BBC and ITV stopped broadcasting to Europe so these are only possible to receive via the INTERNET TV SYSTEM we have installed.This is a streaming device which only works when there is INTERNET supply so if the internet fails we get no STREAMED TV so we DO NOT offer this as part of our TV service ie if you get it OK if not we can do nothing to rectify.There is a DVD/CD player and a radio.The large kitchen is equipped with all top quality modern appliances including a superb fixed granite breakfast table for 8 people,built in high level double oven and grill,separate hob,microwave, tassimo coffee m/c,large fridge/freezer,dishwasher and several more appliances.As this is our family villa you will find more than sufficient amounts of crockery,glasses,utensils,

BBQ equipment for use. All linen, bedding,bath/hand towels are provided .We now provide one pool towel per client

ie 8 in total which saves on suitcase luggage when travelling,clients must launder the pool towels themselves.

Where to go: The beaches are only about 2km away at the end of our road,you could walk but it is a couple of minutes in the car.We do recommend car hire but as the local amenities are now so good it is not essential but highly advisable,the supermarkets around Vale de Parra offer a wide range of foods,household goods,baby foods and products and also have cash machine facilities.There is a pharmacy in the village and a bank and walking to local restaurants and bars is easy with a short drive giving a massive choice .On the beaches there are many water sport activities such as jet-ski,para-sailing,water- skiing,banana-boat, etc.The beach bars and restaurants which are dotted along the miles of beaches and coves are a real treat with reasonably priced drinks and food in the most delightful settings.There are excellent Aquatic Parks and the famous dolphins at Zoo Marine just a short drive away as is the Algarve Shopping Centre at Guia with its hypermarket and international outlets and shops.

The 1st bedroom is double bedded with room for an extra cot and has an en-suite shower room. The 2nd bedroom is also double bedded again with en-suite shower room. The villa is single storey,so there are no steps within the house and just a small raised step into the house from both the front patio/pool area and the side BBQ eating area.these are easily negotiated by wheelchair clients and families with small children.Although we have no special disabled facilities,there are some seated bath and toilet rails kindly left by regular clients and the shower rooms offer good accessibility for their purpose.the villa has proved very popular with both disabled clients and the families with infants/young children.Cots and high chairs are available and can be provided free of charge if booked in advance.Lucinda the housekeeper lives locally and is nearly always available if clients should need help,she comes in to quickly clean the villa everyday except Sundays and Bank Holidays and clients personal laundry can be done by arrangement with her.However there is a washing machine in the outside utility room which is for the use of clients should they wish.

Wow, lovely huge fully equipped villa

Wow! Our first impression of our holiday villa was its size, ample space for my husband and I and our two children(6 and 11) Ken and Carol the owners went out of their way to ensure our stay was wonderful, taking me to a large supermarket for a weeks shopping and escorting us to the beach, old town and marina so we could get our bearings before hiring a car, they were very kind and I cannot thank them enough.

The pool,( we opted for if to be heated) patio/barbeque area (with built-in barbeque) were very well appointed and the most used areas of our stay,plenty of room for the children to run around whilst we enjoyed the sun loungers. The poolside w/c and outdoor shower were very handy , especially for the children. the pool and patio were cleaned and attended to regularly and previous guests had left lots of inflatables. Lovely large patio area with multiple areas to play or relax.

The living accomodation was superb, had heating in all rooms, a well furnished lounge with large flat screen tv, Sky box (take your own Sky card), DVD player, lots of books and some childrens games.

Bedrooms, very large and comfortable, with plenty of sheets and clean towels all en-suite. Downstairs bathroom (with bath) ideal for children.

The kitchen was fantastic, large with a BIG table, all mod-cons, every utensil, lots of pots&pans made eating-in a pleasure. Laundry room was well used and meant we did not have to carry heavy cases of clothes for messy kids! Lucinda the cleaner did an excellent job and was very respectful, the place was constantly spotless.

The villa is very secure with electric gates with a key pad security system and alarm (with a safe in needed) excellent for peace of mind.

The local area has good restaurants and bars within walking distance, reasonably priced and family orientated serving snacks and child sized meals.

A mini-market, 2 minutes walk away, has basic English products and freshly baked bread rolls twice daily. Larger supermarkets a short car ride away.

You need a car to get to the beach, the main one is Gale and has 3 lovely restaurants with good staff, Albufeira Old Town and marina are only 8 minutes away in a car, but Ken the owner or Andy in the English office organised all of this without any fuss or extra costs that hire companies often add on, a great help and testament to their professional caring service.

A brilliant holiday in a superb villa. We'll definitely be going again.

Owner's Response: My wife Carol and myself were holidaying in our neighbouring villa Casa James at the same time as the family who wrote this review were enjoying their stay in the villa Casa Cathcal.It was an absolute privilege to meet them,not only the adults but two delightful children as well and we thank them for leaving our villa in immaculate condition and will be always welcomed back. Ps We have left our own sky viewing card ,so clients do not need to take one.

Great Family Holiday

My partner and I and our three children stayed at Villa Cathcal in May and had a brilliant time.The villa is so quiet but only a hundred yards or so from the nearest shops and restaurants. All of the restaurants are good quality too!

The villa is spotless, and has loads of space. The rooms are all very generous in size, and there’s everything you might need. Lots of wardrobe space too. There is a lovely kitchen with all mod cons, and the air conditioning and heated pool make this place even more enjoyable. You can also keep an eye on the children because the villa has locked gates, which is very re-assuring. (what a sensible idea).

Villa Cathcal is a delightful holiday villa and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Fantastic Villa

What a fantastic, relaxing holiday.... Upon arrival everything inside and out was spotlessly clean, all beds made & clean towels in all the bathrooms. The Villa is fully equipped with everything you could possibly think of, the pool is quite big with a large terrace and has plenty of tables, chairs, sun beds & mattresses. A short walk away are various shops and restaurants, we really enjoyed our stay at Cathcal and could not have asked for a better location or facilities it was just what we needed. We will defiantly be booking again for next year.

Albufeira is a busy tourist centre with the old part of town surrounding the main square and fishermans beach.

The new part is to the east which is the main tourist centre with closely packed hotels,apartment blocks, bars and

night life. Our villa is in the quieter more rural area to the west and is situated just off the road down to the magnificent Gale Beach plus several other famous beaches and coves.Close by ,just a short walk is a good choice of supermarkets and shops plus an abundance of all types of restaurants and bars some directly on the beach serving the freshest fish possible along with pork, game, poultry all equally superb.The village of Guia some 4 km away is the centre of the world famous Chicken-Piri-Piri restaurants, they are well worth a visit as is the close by Algarve Shopping Centre with its massive array of international outlets, cinemas, hypermarkets, etc. Local wine, brandy, gin, liqueurs are reasonable and very good.

Golf: The Algarve is possibly the best golf centre in Europe, it has numerous courses which suit all levels of golfers.

They range from top championship, the homes of major European tour events such as the Portuguese Open down to a friendly par three course. The nearest course Salgados is very close and a good test,however a short drive will give you a massive choice. A good way to view them all is to go on line where you can see the choice, they can arrange discount golf on all courses as well as transfers to and from the venue or even airport.

They are situated in their own offices Macregor Lda in Vale de Parra and are available in person to advise should you so wish and will even rent out clubs if you don,t want to bring them on the flight.

The pool can be heated if clients so require and the cost to do so will be set before arrival and kept to the minimum, Also the villa interior has the facility to be heated it is perfect for out of season lettings. To secure a booking this can only be done by telephone,we will hold the agreed dates for a few days until we receive a 25% deposit to secure a definite booking.
