Carne and Pendower beaches are a mile away (the two merge at low-tide to give a mile of sand). National Trust land surrounds the house to a mile radius. Nearby St.Mawes and Mevagissey are worth a visit, along with the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project.
