THE ISLAND BEACH HOUSE is a self-catering holiday gem on the popular Woodbridge Island Security Estate. Within a minute's walk from your front door you step onto a 5 km stretch of public beach with picture-postcard views of Table Mountain.

Here, for your exclusive use, is a well-equipped single level, 2-bedroomed house which sleeps 4 and has its own private walled garden perfect for a family barbeque.

30 m from the back door you'll find one of the three sparkling communal swimming pools on the Island and within 150 m you can walk, jog, surf and sunbathe on Milnerton Beach while Cape Town's city center is easily reachable just 9 km away.

The main bedroom looks out over the peaceful, enclosed garden. It has a queen-sized double bed with an excellent mattress made up with crisp white linen. The second bedroom can either be made up with twin single beds or one king-size bed.

We also offer one free camper cot and high-chair for your baby or toddler.

The bathroom has a separate bath and shower, a hand-basin and a toilet and is equipped with large, fluffy towels for all guests as well as shampoo, shower gel, hand-wash and body lotion and a starter supply of double-ply toilet paper.

The kitchen is well-equipped and set up as a home-from-home, with most everything you need for fuss-free self-catering at your fingertips, including a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle and toaster and is stocked with basics, like salt and pepper, basic herbs and spices, olive oil and vinegar, coffee, tea and sugar.

An absolute bonus is the open-plan flow from kitchen through to the lounge-dining area through to the garden, which is ideally set up for long lazy breakfast/lunches or braai/barbeque on the Weber we supply. The garden is joyfully visited by a large array of birds who come to enjoy the birdbath and feeder. Here you can laze on the two sun-loungers and kids can romp freely on the enclosed grass.

If you hire a car, there is a lock-up garage as well as ample safe, secure Visitors Parking within meters from to the house. But, if you are going to be relying on public transport, you have easy, quick access to the MyCiti bus service via the Woodbridge bus station (for trips to the city and surrounds) or the stop just outside the complex for access to shopping centres just up the road and the fabulous Century City shopping and entertainment hub.

Down on the beach there is much to enjoy, including a jog or long walk on the 5 km of sand that stretches right through to Blouberg Beach. This beach, called the Milnerton beach, is a popular venue for surfing, wind-surfing, stand-up paddling and cooling off on a hot summer's day. It also boasts its own lighthouse and BOSSA, a lovely restaurant overlooking the beach and the city against the backdrop of Table Mountain. Few places around Cape Town supply a more picture postcard view or more spectacular sunsets.

Immediately outside the complex are 3 restaurants, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Supplies are readily available within easy walking distance (or a super-quick hop by car or Uber) at Pick 'n Pay, SPAR and Shoprite or Woolworths and a SUPERSPAR 3 km down the road. Branches of two large banks and a number of ATM's are also within quick walking distance.

Opposite the entrance to Woodbridge Island, is the Milnerton Golf Course, a famous links golf course bordered by the sea on the one side and the lagoon on the other.
