Osprey Cottage is a pretty semi-detached cottage situated in tranquil wooded grounds in the hamlet of Alcaig on the Black Isle. The owners also live within the two acre grounds.
Osprey Cottage features stunning views of the Cromarty Firth, with the mountains of Easter Ross beyond, from the lounge and both bedrooms. It is a view which is constantly changing with the tide and the light. The tidal firth is a haven for wildlife, and most days in the summer months Ospreys can be seen from the cottage fishing over the firth, and in the winter thousands of geese can be seen in the fields and overhead.
The cottage is spotlessly clean, modern, well-equipped and peaceful.
Within the cottage there is a kitchen and open-plan dining and living area with wide-reaching views across the Cromarty Firth and towards Ben Wyvis. The cottage has easy ramp access making it suitable for some disabled guests and wheelchair users.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washer-dryer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, and fridge with a small freezer compartment.
There is one double bedroom (with a king-sized bed and a walk-in wardrobe) and one single bedroom. Both have views across the Inner Cromarty Firth to the mountains of Easter Ross.
The lounge has a TV with Freeview and a built in DVD player with a selection of DVDs, a CD/radio, games, books and an abundance of leaflets and useful information.
The cottage has under-floor heating with individually-controllable thermostats in each room and a heated-towel radiator in the shower room.
From the dining area, french doors open out onto the private patio with a table and chairs. There are shared wooded gardens that host a variety of birdlife. The cottage is located at the end of a private drive and has parking for a car immediately in front of it.
Two well-behaved pets may be allowed by arrangement at no extra cost.
Despite the peace and quiet, the cottage is conveniently located for the town of Dingwall (3 miles away) and the Highland's capital Inverness (12 miles). It is also the perfect base for touring the Highlands being at the hub of the road network. Some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK - Glen Affric, Loch Ness, Torridon, Assynt - is less than an hour away. The Black Isle itself has historical villages like Cromarty, great beaches such as Rosemarkie, and Chanonry Point which is the best land location to see dolphins in the UK.
Osprey Cottage offers you the opportunity to stay in a clean, comfortable, quiet location with exceptional views and be perfectly located for the best the Highlands has to offer.
