About this property

Stunning sea view cottage, surrounded by vineyards, with beach access: 'Lentisk'

Lentisk is a beautiful one bedroom house on the fashionable peninsula of the Monte Argentario. Surrounded by both olive trees and vineyards, Lentisk overlooks the sea, with unspoiled view of Mediterranean, Giglio Island, Monte Cristo, and at sunset, Corsica. The house has been recently restored by her owner, Camilla Grimaldi, and sits on a impressive wine and olive oil estate called Poderi di Capo d'Uomo, which is set in its own bay, dominated by a Spanish built 16th century tower (which is the logo of the wine estate). It is called Lentisk, after the many lentisk plants around the terrace.

Lentisk is a one bedroom property, though can sleep another couple on a sofa bed in the sitting room. The house benefits from a stunning terrace with an outdoor 'sitting room' where guests can dine on a table made from a large olive oil mill-stone, which can seat up to 12 people. The house also has a sitting room, fully fitted kitchen, bathroom, air-conditioning, fans, working fireplace for the winter, car parking and is in a secluded part of the estate, providing privacy (the house is approx 90m2, excluding the terrace). We have our own friendly and professional staff that manage the property, and if booked in advance, can provide other services such as cooking and shopping.

The house also has direct private access to the clear sea below (4 mins walk), with a stone platform that has a ladder allowing access to the sea.

The Monte Argentario, has been a popular destination since the Roman times, nowadays for the European jet-set, and is famed for its vistas, nature and beautiful and clean sea, and is perfectly located to explore other parts of Southern Tuscany, for example Capalbio, Magliano, Tarquinia, Maremma National Park, Saturnia, among others. The estate is ten minutes drive to Porto Santo Stefano, the local town where you can find restaurants, bars, banks, boat hire, chemists, ferries to the islands and other amenities.

The closest airport is Rome Fiumicino (1.40mins drive). Pisa airport is 2 hours drive.

Check-in is between 4pm and 8pm, check-out is by 11am.

Wonderful setting with picture perfect views
The property is in a very quiet setting, which was perfect for us, with a superb outdoor area for sitting, eating, and enjoying the Tuscan sunsets. The indoors were great; modern, well equipped, spacious and very comfortable. We had a lovely stay, it was a pity that it wasn’t longer. Bug repellent is highly recommended!

Fabulous
Fantastic location if you want peace and quiet. Lovely cottage with great amenities and scrupulously clean. We were left a lovely welcome pack of the vineyard wine (beautiful) plus some essentials. The views and outside living areas are spectacular. Stefano and Maria are lovely and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this property but suggest a small hire car to navigate the local roads (ours was far too big) and brush up on your Italian.

Beautiful, beautiful views!
We had a really great time staying here, the views are absolutely stunning. It was so dreamy to wake up there every morning and have have breakfast looking out over the bay. Perfect too for watching a stunning sunset and the stars at night will take your breath away (just make sure you have some bug spray!). The cottage was very comfortable, the mattress was good and so slept well all week. It did lack a few things in the kitchen such as spoons (only had teaspoons, forks and knives for some reason). We purchased a tea towel and a sponge for cleaning up as they were absent too but they were just little things that were easy to purchase for our stay. Check in was easy and friendly. I would recommend a small‘ish size car if visiting as navagating your way up and down from the property is not for the faint of heart. We would have really appreciated some sort of welcome/information folder that you usually receive with holiday lets as we had no idea what to do with the bins or where to find things mentioned such as the walks in the area and steps down to the bay, so perhaps this could be considered for future guests. It’s a great place overall and I would highly recommend staying here if visiting the area!

Breathtaking!
A completely idyllic spot, nestled in vineyards overlooking Giglio. This place has everything, stylish interior, impeccably clean with a breathtaking view! It is a peaceful place to get away from the world and forget the time. I left feeling anew and would highly recommend it to anyway that wants to take a break, read, eat delicious Italian seafood and stare out at the inky blue sea.

Why they chose this property

Lentisk is part of a large, wine and olive oil producing estate called Poderi di Capo d'Uomo, right on the sea, yet sits in a secluded area, surrounded by vines and olive trees. Guests can visit the wine cellars and try one of the 6 different wines made on the estate.

The house has been recently restored and has all the comforts one could wish for, and is well managed by the estate staff. Being on the sea, the views are stunning, and enjoy a perfect sunset every evening. You can use the direct path that heads down to the private stone platform allowing sea access.

There are also a number of walks. one to the tower which is the highest point of Monte Argentario, or to the cape which gives its name to the estate, Capo d'Uomo.
