Very good base for a great town and area
Mirta was great throughout - helping very quickly with questions before and after booking, meeting us when we arrived, giving us ideas of things we could do and getting back to us immediately over one the one query we had while we were there (about recycling) . It was very nice to meet her. Verona itself is beautiful, especially at night. We went to the Opera at the arena which was special + did the ol' Juliet balcony bit (which was good fun) and the Roman museum by the amphitheatre which had some amazing artefacts. Many of the buildings and streets in the town are wonderful and at night it is a very busy but quiet and romantic. We presume bars and restaurants are not allowed to play music as none seemed to in the historic centre (which is very big and the only bit you'll really likely see other than the immediate area around the apartment - which is nice). The apartment is very nice, elegantly decorated and not nearly as formal as it might appear from the photos (so that was a good surprise). It is close to the old town (about 5 minutes walk). A good supermarket is a few doors away as was one particularly popular and good café for a morning coffee and filled croissant or cornetto pastry (about two doors away from the supermarket). The rooms are a good size and there is good air conditioning in the bedrooms and big lounge (where we moved the coffee table from the corner so we had a table to play cards around). Mirta had left us some very nice goodies and the kitchen had all you needed, including dishwasher and (on the veranda) a washing machine and clothes horse. The shower in the 2nd bathroom was actually the best so we tended to use that one. For those wanting total peace you need to appreciate that you are in a city and the windows in the main bedroom do not keep all the traffic noise from the road below out - but it is not a very busy road. We went to Lake Garda twice - one day to Lazise (with our teenage children going to Gardaland in the evening while we went the 10mins drive back to Lazise for a meal and 'promenade' in Lazise - the little harbour is gorgeous) they thought Gardaland was excellent and a fair bit better than Alton Towers - it's a good cheap ticket after 6pm and closes at 11pm). We also went to Riva del Garda at the north of the lake on another day and that was a great place to swim; though if you only have time to do one we'd recommend Lazise (and it takes about half the time to get to it). Would recommend!

Lovely well equipped apartment in a fantastic location
We stayed as a family of 5 for one week in June and had a fantastic time. The apartment is located within a 15 minute walk to Piazza Bra/ the arena and approximately 25 minutes walk or a short cab ride from the station. The local area is on several main bus routes and is quite central so easy to access most areas of the city. There are several restaurants, takeaways and bars within a few minutes walk and a supermarket just a stone's throw from the apartment. The apartment is on the third floor of a lovely block which is serviced by an elevator. Inside the apartment is beautifully decorated and is furnished with period furniture. The kitchen is well equipped should you wish to cook or prepare food and Mirta (the host) had left essentials such as tea, coffee, water and beer which was a welcome surprise. The apartment has two main bedrooms and a living room that contains a sofa bed. There are two bathrooms, one of which contains a small bath with both having shower and toilet. Our only slight gripe over the whole week was that the water pressure is not great so the showers were not very powerful and therefore could not be used at the same time if several of you were getting ready at one time. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedrooms and living room all have air conditioning units which were most welcome as it was approximately 35 degrees when we arrived in Verona. Mirta gave us a pack containing lots of information about the local area and surrounding tourist attractions along with bus and train timetables and maps etc which was really helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and would very much like to return in the future.
