Large charming traditional chalet- located on the ski piste

Chalet Hallali is one of the oldest and most picturesque chalets in the Villars-Gryon resort. Set directly on the ski run at Barboleuse it looks out over a breathtaking view of the Swiss and French Alps and down to the village below. The original structure was built in 1829. Ancient beams, antique furniture and two large open fires create the perfect swiss alps retreat for summer or winter. There are numerous outdoor terraces with dining areas and a large lawn. Parking for two cars and a large garage space for ski storage. With two seperate lounge areas Chalet Hallali is perfectly designed for groups of adults or large families, allowing space for everyone.

Sleeps 12 comfortably. 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms. Uninterupted panoramic views. Outdoor covered eating area and flat grassed areas. Parking in chalet drive. Central heating, DVD player and UK sky freesat satelite, two open fireplaces, two seperate lounge areas, laundry facilities, outdoor garden furniture, WiFi access.

The Village: Ideal for both winter and summer rental. With 225km of ski runs, ski schools, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and a snow garden for children to learn to ski. There are 300km of hiking paths and 120km of mountain bike trails. Also a high altitude 18 hole Golf course at 1600m. Close proximity to various family based activities in the area.

The village of Barboleuse is situated between Villars and Gryon. This is a traditional, un-spoilt area of Swizerland located on a sunny shelf in the Alpes Vaudoise which enjoys a full southerly aspect with plenty of sun all day long and superb views of the Dents du Midi range and Mont Blanc.

Skiing: You won't find concrete high rises, bleak 'purpose built' resort accommodation or the catered chalet package holiday crowd. What you will find are authentic chalets ecclectically arranged on the hillsides, friendly affordable restaurants and a warm, mountain style welcome. If you are looking for a lively night out then there are a couple of trendy bars and clubs in the village.

The ski areas are reached either by one of the two cable cars (Barboulouse or Roc d'Orsay) or via a rack and pinion mountain train up to the Col de Bretaye, both afford spectacular views in both Winter and Summer.

There are a number of ski / snowboard schools which have a high standard of instruction and smaller classes than you might otherwise expect. Ecole de Ski Villars is the official ski and snowboard school since 1974. The Villars Swiss Ski and Snowboard School has more than 100 certified ski and snowboard instructors.

For children and beginners there is a nursery lift in the village.

Activities: Skiing

Villars Gryon, excluding the Les Diablerets Glacier, has 100 km of marked ski runs. At an altitude of 1200m - 2120m there is a perfect blend of runs to suit all tastes. Including the Les Diablerets Glacier there is 220 km of marked ski runs up to 3000m.

HIking

There are 25 km of cleared paths for walking and snowshoeing. Non-skiers can enjoy a beautiful walk in the sunshine around the lake of Bretaye at 1800 metres.

Golf

The Villars 18 hole golf course boasts breathtaking views over the Dents du Midi mountain range. In the winter this course forms part of the ski piste.

Kids Adventure

There is an adventure park at Aigle (Parc Aventure) and and for adults and children the aqua parc at Le Bouveret is open all year round and is just a 25 minute drive.

Biking

Trails covering over 120km of challenging forest area.

There is also an artificial ice rink, indoor swimming pool, indoor tennis, squash, fitness centre and bowling alley.

Stay tax £2.33 per night, per person. This amount will be due to the manager upon arrival. Does not apply to children under 9 years.

The rental price is self catering in Swiss Francs CHF for the whole chalet or apartment. 30% of total rental is payable on booking being accepted. The balance rental plus 1000CHF damage deposit is due 8 weeks prior to arrival date.

Payment is made by CREDIT CARD or BANK TRANSFER.
