Lovely weeks holiday with family and our 3 dogs.
Mike & Julie were great hosts, providing lots of local information and recommendations. They were very welcoming and we appreciated the welcome hamper of local produce. We have three dogs, and this was a very dog friendly cottage. We all very much enjoyed our week in South Wales at bluebell. It is located close to some great beaches and we were very lucky with the weather given the heavy rain in other parts of the UK. Would definitely recommend to others and thank you Mike and Julie.

Relaxing
We were welcomed by the owners very friendly and laid back. Our dog Vi had a lovely time in the garden plenty of space for a run round. The cottage is cosy and comfortable. Exploring the area was delightful, such a beautiful part of the country. Would highly recommend a visit.

About the host

Hosted by Mike and Julie Cook

Host profile image
Mike and Julie have lived at Cuckoo Springs for over 15 years. We are smallholders having escaped from teaching and IT. We have rare breed animals and 2 horses and try to be as self sufficient as possible. We converted our 18th century barn for holiday guests in 2009 and we work hard to ensure you have a memorable holiday .

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with the peaceful, magical location of this farm when we first saw it in January 2002. Then when we saw the beach at Penbryn we were hooked! The final decision to buy it was made February 3rd which just happened to be our wedding anniversary. Not many can say, my husband bought be a farm for an anniversary present! As you might guess I am an incurable romantic and we try to make your holiday special and romantic too.

What makes this property unique

We are an active small holding with rare breed pigs, sheep, horses, chickens and a house cow. All of our animals are friendly and we encourage interaction with them (under supervision of course). Children of all ages can help feeding the animals, and older children and adults can be more involved if they if they wish.
We allow our guests to enjoy our 5 acre wood and an adjoining 5 acre field with wild flowers including orchids and bluebells.
The cottages offer a haven of peace and tranquillity in a secluded wooded valley and are just 4 miles from beautiful beaches and the Pembrokeshire/Ceredigion coast path..
There are a number of very good pubs and restaurants some by the sea and others in the countryside.
The cottage has won a number of awards for customer satisfaction
