Town: The market town of Nantwich is five miles south east of Crewe on the River Weaver and the Shropshire Union Canal. It is known for having one of the UK's only remaining outdoor Brine Pools. There are weekly markets and a monthly farmers' market. The town centre has historic buildings, floral displays throughout. Nantwich hosts The Battle of Nantwich in January, the Jazz, Blues and Music Festival at Easter and the world-famous International Cheese Awards in July. Market Drayton and Whitchurch are within 12 miles and are worth a trip to enjoy their history and architecture.
