About this property

Amidst an orange grove, in the valley of the Alcantara, Villa Sofia is a fantastic holiday stay.

The coast and the beach can be reached in just 10 minutes by car.

The house is spacious, light, modern in architecture and design (125m2).

In the garden is a beautiful tiled private pool (5 x 10 meters). Around the swimming pool there are some age-old olive trees and a large avocado tree next to all kinds of citrus trees.

On the ground floor is the comfortable spacious living room with large open kitchen. The loft-like room has a high ceiling and is decorated in a modern style. In addition to a stylish fireplace * there is also WIFI on request.

The open kitchen is also complete with modern hot air oven, microwave, double door refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and espresso machine.

Further on the ground floor a toilet with bidet and sink and a room with the washing machine.

On the first floor there are 4 rooms: one very spacious bedroom with double bed, walk-in closet and air conditioning, 1 (children's) bedroom with 2 single beds and a room (separated from the corridor with panel curtains) containing a 2- person bed of 1. 40 m wide. This room is also equipped with air conditioning. Rest of course the modern bathroom with large shower, double sink, toilet and bidet.

Rural home with views of Gaggi accompanied by the sound of barking dogs

Relaxing stay in this airy open plan house in a private location. Contemporary and simple feel downstairs with great pool and pool area to chill plus outside dining area. Spacious main bedroom upstairs and bathroom (shower only) plus 2 further bedrooms great for kids. Beds were very comfortable. No garden area as such, mostly wild and citrus trees. No shortage of lemons. Arrival was great - early check in and amazing cheese, charcuterie, bread and wine as a warm welcome. Kitchen was well equipped and nice dining table plus snug seating area by the fireplace. The heater provided on day 3 was a perfect addition. Many large and loud barking dogs at all hours next door - suggest bring a speaker and play music to help drown out the noise.

Früher mal ein schönes Haus

Das Haus liegt oberhalb von Naxos recht einsam in einer Orangenplantage. Von hier aus sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu erreichen (Taormina, Alcantara Tal, Catania, Ätna). Das Haus war früher ganz sicher mal ein Traum. Leider ist es aktuell recht schlecht gepflegt und soll, nach Auskunft der örtlichen Betreuer, auch bald renoviert werden. Das ist dringend notwendig!!! Das Haus ist muffig und nicht wirklich gereinigt. Der Pool wird alle zwei bis 3 Tage gepflegt. Auf Grund des ungepflegten Naturgrundstücks (Orangenplantage, Olivenbäume) ist der Pool regelmäßig voller Blätter. Außerdem verliert er täglich viel Wasser, welches mit frischen Grundwasser aufgefüllt wird, somit ist er recht kalt. Die Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet, allerdings fehlt eine regelmäßige gründliche Reinigung. Die Kaffeemaschine ist defekt. Das ganze Haus hat einen "sonderbaren Eigenduft". Dafür sind die Betten sehr bequem, was ein großer Pluspunkt ist. Wir würden das Haus im aktuellen Zustand nicht noch einmal buchen. Nach einer Renovierung wahrscheinlich schon.

Nice house in a wonderful area

+ Nice house in the country side. + The house is well furnished and easy to live in (September period). + The relationship with the local representative is nice and easy + The welcome procedure is perfect and flexible. Which we appreciated with early arrival. On top we had a wonderful little attention with local product we really appreciated. - Indeed we heard the dogs barking night and day. Very annoying during rest time. - Maintenance and cleanliness of swimming pool could be improved. (Nobody came to clean and no instruction on how to use the equipment left) - Garden is wild which brought a lot of moskitos As we are in the countryside, farmers can be working around with engines all day. It was not a pb for us as we were visiting the beautiful area, but if you want to rest this might be annoying.
