Coast/Beach: 2 minutes to the beach
You can walk in either direction on the flat for many miles on the main pedestrianized ways or very wide pathways.
Also very good for bike riding.
There are several large and a couple of smaller beaches.

Travel:
Arrecife Airport is approximately 12-minute taxi ride
Buses around the resort and too many neighbouring areas are very good and very reasonable.
Hire cars from the airport and returning them are very good and very easy to access and leave on return.

Distances:
The harbor of Puerto Del Carmen is a 7-minute drive/taxi ride.
Allow 40 minutes to walk/stroll there past shops, Restaurants, and sea front all the way. A waterbus then travels to Puerto Calero or you can cliff walk in 45 minutes each way.
Walk/stroll the other direction 45 minutes to the airport and watch planes land extremely close overhead.
The capital, Arrecife, is 30 minutes by bus and runs every 20 minutes from just across the road on the way to Deiland centre and Playa Honda stop off points.
Car hire is not necessary unless you wish to sightsee around the Island.
