A grade 2 listed arts and crafts semi detached arts and crafts cottage in Poldark country. Close to Bodmin Moor. Superfast Wifi. Pet friendly. BT TV. Central heating. Open fires. A quiet rural location with period heritage features and gardens. Close to Looe, Polperro and south coast beaches. Lanhydrock is just around the corner as are other great gardens like Cotehele and the Eden project. The north coast beaches and fishing villages are within 30 minutes, Polzeath, Padstow, Watergate bay and much more.

Cornish Cottage provides 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 comfortably. It has a large lounge with open fire and a farmhouse kitchen and comfortable dining. The house is arts and craft and has charm and beauty.

Cornwall's World Heritage area is nearby with Bodmin Moor right on your doorstep. A central location and Country House ideal for exploring Cornwall by families.

Cornish Cottage is on a rural no through lane,in the countryside. It is built on land overlooking the river Fowey in an protected area of Great Landscape Value. Surrounded on 3 sides by fields and woodland it is a wildlife magnet, deer, fox, otter, sparrowhawk, owls, bats, toads buzzard and countless other birds are regularly seen.

Cornish Cottage is an a central location easy to access many of Cornwall's attractions. Bodmin Moor World Heritage site is 10 minutes away where you can visit Caradon Copper Mines and travel back in time to the Bronze age stone circles, the hurlers and visit the ancient Treverthy quiot

Built in 1896 in rubble stone with castellated cast iron gutters and slated roof lintels for each window. Built for as a farmhouse and part of the estate of George and Mary Hermon curate of St Neot of Doublebois House. The house is featured in kisses on a postcard, the story of a boy evacuee in the hamlet of Doublebois.

Enter the house into a hallway from which 3 doors lead off. Into a comfortable south facing lounge with vaulted ceilings and a working fireplace. Or into the kitchen decorated in traditional paints, with a solid fuel burner. The third doorway leads into a small converted larder, now a toilet.

Upstairs the hallway leads to three bedrooms. The first master bedroom faces south and is decorated with William Morris wallpaper and an art deco fireplace. The second bedroom has a large window and a small feature window which adds great charm.

The third bedroom is perfect for kids with a double bed and a single camp bed and easy access to the bathroom.

Cornish Cottage has rural views and faces east.

Excellent character cottage in ideal location

This beautiful cottage was in an excellent location to see many of the great sights in Cornwall.

The cottage itself was very homely and the little garden good for a bbq! Jason and Lisa were also great hosts and were around for any questions and suggestions of places to go.

We would definitely recommend this cottage to others!

Very peaceful location and full of character.

We had a four night stay and the cottage is well located for visiting both the south and north coast, plus attractions such as the Eden Project.

The visitor information needs updating with instructions on how to work the central heating thermostat as we were quite cold for 24 hours until contacting Jason. Better Tv instructions would be helpful too. Also we had difficulty finding the cottage as the access details are out of date, eg.the ‘brown’ gate is now white!

Very clean and comfortable bedrooms, lovely bed linen. The kitchen needs a little attention as the tap is precariously wobbly and a cupboard door knob comes off in the hand. The kitchen door handle is very loose - all small problems but show a lack of attention. A grill pan and grid would be useful rather than having to use the very grubby oven shelf for grilling. Provide a scourer if you want the frying pan to be cleaned properly! (We bought some). Bathroom needs modernising but lots of hot water for bath or shower.

Sorry to sound critical as we enjoyed our stay overall, but these are all easy things to improve and not expensive. I have experience of this as I have a small property which I rent out.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We have taken your points on board. However, we would like to point out that since your stay last month the house has been painted throughout, the tap is fixed and the kitchen is diaried to be attended to after this busy period. We have fitted new carpets upstairs and to the hallway. The garden gates has been very recently replaced which is why they are now white. Future guests can also now enjoy a woodburner in the living room. We will look at updating the handbook asap and I would urge anyone who is unsure of how to work the unlimted central heating to contact us and not wait 24 hours. We give our contact details to all guests and ask that you contact us immediately if there is anything we can do to help. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes Jason and Lisa

Cottage was a good size and well located for all the good beaches and attractions. Very clean and comfortable cottage. Jason was very good and left us to it. We will be booking again.

We had a super welcome from Jason and such a lovely house! So pleased!

My husband and I had a lovely few days; such a lovely house - full of character and charm! It was immaculately clean and well stocked! The front bedroom was so comfortable slept like logs! We lit the fire for two nights (SO lovely) and just asked politely to leave a token payment for logs!! Worth every penny!! Jason gave us so much help with cycle tracks and walks ... and was so relaxed! What a lovely chap! Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

A fairly comfortable stay in a clean characteristic cottage although in need of improvement.

We stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding in liskeard. The location was ideal for us for the occasion and once you get past a slightly unusual entrance to the property (a car scrap yard) the cottage has very picturesque views. The cottage itself is clean but requires a lot of tlc to bring it up to standard and the decor is very dated and not very inviting. The kitchen had most things we needed but the cupboards doors and tap were very unstable! I would have liked to have seen pillow protectors on the pillows and all wall mirrors upstairs at a height that the average person can see in without standing on tiptoes!

Owner's Response: We are glad that our guests find our cottage spotless and clean. We found your comments helpful, we are replacing carpets in the hall , stairs and bedroom. The cottage is painted in Farrow and Ball paints. mostly neutral cream with some eating apple green and print room yellow. You can see the decor in the pictures which is in keeping with the period house and listed status by Engish Heritage. The painting needs biannual upkeep and scuff marks do get left on walls during the busy summer period and we will rectify this. Our windows are being rennovated currently and we have an ongoing programme to keep the property at 4 or 5 star standard. We have replaced the tap in the kitchen and will tighten cupboar doors. We do provide pillow protectors and matress protectors. We look forward to welcoming more guests to this beautiful cottage with rural views, a hidden gem. Jason and Lisa

Cornish Cottage is a large arts and crafts listed semi detached cottage. Situated in a quiet no through lane above the river Fowey in an area of Great Landscape Value. If you want to visit North, mid cornwall and South East Cornwall this is the best location you could have.

15 min from the hurlers stone circle, Bodmin moor World heritage area, Golitha falls. Half an hour from the Eden project. 25 min to Looe, Polperro, Cawsand and Kingsand and Fowey. Half an hour from beaches at Polzeath, Newquay fistral, Bedruthan steps Trebawith Strand on the North Coast and Tintagel. 25 min from beaches at Seaton and Whitsand Bay on the south coast.

5 min from Lanhydrock national trust house and gardens, 15 min from Pencarrow 30 min from Cotehele, Mt Edgcumbe.

Nearby walking and mountainbiking at Cardinham and Bodmin Moor with miles of bridleways. Camel valley bike trail and vineyard are 15 min away.
