Villa Simone is over two centuries old Istrian villa that has been fully renovated to provide privacy for luxurious vacation for couples or families with children. Property provides privacy and security for your children and their carefree play.
Villa Simone has beautiful yard all around the villa. On the ground floor there is a living room with an open fire place and big screen LCD satellite TV. The ground floor has access to the pool, garden and outside comfortable lounge/ dining area. The villa is nested in a quiet hamlet and offers tranquility yet just a short drive away from crowded tourist centers like Porec just 10 min away.
Overall we had a wonderful time at Villa Simone. We were greeted with fresh pears, peaches and eggs from the agent's farm, and quickly settled into the house. We were grateful for the completely enclosed nature of the property because of our young son and our dog, who were free to roam relatively freely. We also loved the pool, which though small, was adequate to cool off and play in. We cooked several meals on the outdoor grill and enjoyed eating outside under the stars. The kitchen is small, but well-stocked and adequate. The beds were comfortable, and the whole house tastefully decorated. We appreciated the multiplicity of visiting spaces: living room, upstairs patio, front patio, pool-side, etc. We also loved the secluded nature of it: only 10 minutes from Porec, but completely quiet and as if we had the whole village to ourselves. And lastly, we loved the bread truck that came by each day to sell fresh bread! That was definitely an unexpected plus.
The drawbacks were the following: there are really only 3 bedrooms. The 4th is not enclosed and is essentially the hallway on the second floor. It is also where the only A/C unit on the second floor is located, so in order to have air in the other bedroom on that floor, one must leave the door open, thus eliminating their privacy as well. We put our son's crib in the open room and my husband and I were in the adjacent room. Our brother and parents were upstairs in the 3rd and 4th bedrooms.
We also had a terrible time with mosquitoes. We tried citronella candles and other anti-mosquito devices, but all of us on the second floor were bitten quite a bit at night. Those on the 3rd floor (with closeable doors and A/C units in their rooms) had no such trouble. We think the mosquitoes somehow came in downstairs and because both rooms were open to the downstairs they were able to enter at will.
Other than that the house was really quite wonderful. The gardens were gorgeous, with fragrant, blossoming lavender humming with bees and butterflies, olive trees, a fig tree with ripe figs, and other herbs for use in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend it to others, provided they are okay with the limitations mentioned above.
Villa Simone was exactly as decribed. Well maintained and clean, in a quiet neighborhood.
It is a good place to relax and enjoy all the pleasures of the surrounding area.
Recommend to a group or a family.
