It could be a great house but in all honesty it is tired.
On the positive side as you walk in the main full height sitting room and dining table are impressive and the suite in there is in good condition. The pool and hot tub are great. It was also nice to be given the tennis court and main pool key as often this takes time to sort out.
On the downside.
- The downstairs toilet wouldn't fully flush ... so waste just circled. It would then would not refill. The management company said they'd fix this after we left.
- The shower curtain rail, hooks and sink lights were rusty. That doesn't feel very 'executive'
- Carpets throughout, but particularly on the stairs needed, cleaning.
- The living area suite is very saggy and could benefit from being cleaned or replaced.
- So could the rug.
- Mattresses on all the beds were saggy and some had cut foam on top, not covered other than the bedsheet which didn't feel hygienic. The pillows were the thinnest I've ever seen. The bedding & towels were tired.
- I have stayed on Highlands 30+ times but this was the first time I was bitten, all over. It could have been from the pool area where the mesh cover had come away from the frame or elsewhere.
- The Kitchen was OK but the units had been badly repainted and the dishwasher was so old it had turned yellow ... but it worked fine.
It could be a great house but needs money spending either on deep cleaning or on some more extensive refurbishment.
