CONTEMPORARY AND STYLISH LIVING IN TRUE ITALY

Overview

Property

Updated: 16-Nov-2016
3 BEDROOM MODERN AND SPACIOUS VILLA WITH PRIVATE POOL,NESTLED WITHIN OLIVE TREES

VILLA ULIVO, or the Villa of Olive Trees, takes its name from its location, being nestled within nearly 2 acres of its own private olive groves, famous within this region of Italy.

Set back from a quiet road, behind a private gate and down its own private drive, it is located under 30minutes drive from the modern Brindisi airport, and an hour from Bari. Although the villa is believed to date back to the 1930's it has recently been completely remodelled, creating a wonderfully versatile, spacious, modern and stylish property.

With 3 double bedrooms and 2 shower-rooms, airconditioning throughout, it very comfortably sleep up to 6 adults. Although it has a modern, well appointed kitchen, it also has a generous lounge that opens out directly onto the 40 ft terrace overlooking the pool, and bbq - fantastic for al fresco dining!

This is comtemporary living in True Italy!

Although Villa Ulivo is relatively secluded, there is a good sense of community in the local vicinity, with a neighbouring villa, which is visible behind the stone wall, next to the pool. There is also some kennels under one kilomoter from the villa, and occasionally with the wind in the right (or wrong!) direction, and around feeding time you can hear the dogs bark in the background. This for us reminds us we are part of a community.

About the Owner

The proud father of a young family, I enjoy nothing more then splashing around in the pool with my daughter, as my wife leisurely reads from a sunbed (avoiding the odd splash for our 4 year old) on the pool side, before enjoying the view (and a glass of wine) from the terrace ahead of heading out for dinner in a local restaurant

Great summer holidays in Puglia

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 weeks in septembre and had a great time at Ulivo. It’s a perfect getaway. Well designed and convenient.

Privacy, comfort and security surrounded by olive trees. We also appreciated the friendly welcome and non intrusive good care of Antonio and Angela. With 90F° temperature we enjoyed the A/C and crystal clear swimming pool.

The secluded location requires a car but is close to a great preserved beach and centuries old olive grove (Torre Guaceto). We didn’t try many restaurants nearby as we found excellent food and wine in the vicinity, so we cooked. Location is excellent for Puglia exploration, coming back in the evening for a swim, BBQ and a good night sleep. Sometimes just farniente by the pool.

Looking forward to come again. Many thanks.

A Beautiful Villa in a lovely part of Italy

  • 5 of 5

The villa has a modern interior design with bi-fold doors that open the large living room out into the garden/pool area. It was a clean, well decorated family home in an area of Italy that has many local restaurants and historical towns. The local family who look after the villa were very helpful without being intrusive, quickly carrying out pool and house cleaning when necessary. The BBQ area has a sink and gas ring nearby, which was very useful when cooking the local seafood. We visited the local restaurant 'La Dolce Vita' in Caravigno which has the most delicious anti-pasta. But bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. The air con and pool were really needed when we were there in June and provided much relief from the heat. A very nice base for an enjoyable holiday.

Perfect place to relax

  • 5 of 5

Went here with 3 children for 1 week, ages 5, 8 and 10. The interior was immaculately presented and we were met by the Housekeeper who was extremely helpful in all aspects, including meeting us from our delayed flight at 11 o clock at night. The villa is set up with all mod cons, including wi-fi, dvd etc but the kids spent most of the time in the pool or exploring the grounds. Due to the location and lack of neighbouring houses you truly felt able to relax and wind down which is a big selling point. The exterior of the house is equally well furnished with a great seating area. overall a fantastic, well equipped villa.

Elegant, peaceful, relaxing.

  • 4 of 5

Villa Ulivo is a modern, spacious, clean villa. It is well managed by Silvana who was very friendly and helpful and spoke impeccable English and met us with a most welcome food parcel after a long flight. Our sons were delighted the villa benefited from Wifi and we all made good use of the pool. My greatest delight was having breakfast on the veranda watching the swifts dipping down into the pool for bugs, right in front of me, magical. We felt the nearby towns were not special but offered adequate food shopping facilities and the villa was a good base to explore gems such as Alberobello, Lecce and Galipoli.

True Italy indeed

  • 5 of 5

Spent a wonderful relaxing week here in the start of September. The villa was impeccable: spacious, clean and decorated to a very high modern standard.

The weather was lovely at this time of year, not too hot but hot enough for sunbathing and swimming (at local beaches as well as in the pool).

The villa is located in a genuine rural area of ancient olive groves and vineyards, and you really do get a feel for "true Italy". The nearby beaches (there are several within a 10 to 15 minute drive) remain unspoilt, although there are plenty of great restaurants (for lunch or dinner) where ever you find yourself - as the Italians know how to eat better than anyone!

Another nearby highlight was Ostuni, "the White City", a beautiful medieval city with fascinating Mediterranean architecture. Well worth a visit.

They say that Puglia is where the Italians holiday, and now I know why! I cannot recommend this enough.

Warm regards,

Harry Millichamp

Fantastic Villa in relaxing and rural Italy

  • 5 of 5

Have just returned from a fantastically relaxing week in Italy. The villa was amazing, very spacious, clean and well equipped. With 3 large bedrooms and two bathrooms there was ample room. The villa has a beautiful terrace, which was perfect for dining outside in the shade, overlooking the pool and the olive groves.

The pool was a generous size and immaculate and was the perfect way to cool off!

The Villa was very easy to find from Bari airport, Silvana who is the property manager, met us on route to make the last part of the journey painless. She was incredibly friendly and helpful and highlighted things to do in the area.

The villa is in a peaceful rural setting, and is only 10 minutes from a beautiful sandy beach, Torre Guaceto, and several local Italian towns which offer numerous restaurants.

The only negative is we only stayed for a week and I wish we had stayed for two!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Brindisi at 15 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : Bari at 80 Kilometres Nearest Train : Brindisi at 20 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Torre Guaceto at 3 Kilometres Car: necessary

The villa is located under 4 km from the sea, in the countryside between Carovigno and the coastal resort of Specchiolla, 20 minutes from Brindisi airport and 65 minutes from Bari. Carovigno is the last town on the edge of Le Murge - the upland plains of Puglia - before the land gradually falls in height to meet the coastal plain of Brindisi. Close by are various beach resorts, small ports, and the internationally protected nature reserve of Torre Guaceto. Carovigno itself is an historic town, rich in folkloric festivals. For a small town (circa 14,000 inhabitants) it is surprisingly lively, and a real centre for gastronomy, with numerous good restaurants and shops, and a market on Tuesday mornings. It is also within a short drive or cycle ride of several fine beaches, and well-situated for many places of interest, such as Alberobello, Lecce, Martina Franca, Ostuni, and Castellana Caves.
