About this property

Ancient family home located in the historic center of the medieval village of Osilo, in the northwest of Sardinia, at an altitude of 650 m. above sea level in a cool and quiet location a few steps from the Malaspina castle, 10 km from Sassari and 20 km from the beautiful beaches of Marina di Sorso. In a strategic position to reach famous places and beautiful beaches: 40 minutes drive from Alghero, 50 min. from Stintino and just 2 hours to reach Porto Cervo and the Costa Smeralda. Just 100 km from the beautiful Maddalena archipelago and the ferry to Corsica.
Suitable for relaxing holidays, both seaside and cultural, food and wine and sports (tennis, horse riding, trekking, cycling, mountain biking and motorcycling).
Ideal for climbing (climbing) for the many trails on the wide cliff near the towns and located in a beautiful landscape.

The house is spread over three levels and has been recently restored preserving the characteristic structural elements of the era such as a stone staircase, wrought iron railing, flooring, fireplace, wood oven, where you can find the essence of the Sardinian spirit .

Guests have access to the entire home.

Within walking distance of the house there are several shops and businesses, including grocery, stationery and pharmacy. Close to the many scenic spots from which you can admire scenery of unique beauty such as the Gulf of Stintino, the island of Asinara and the Sardinian hinterland. A few hundred meters away there is a bank with an ATM, a fuel distributor, a pastry shop, a bar and a pizzeria. In the country there are all the necessary commercial activities, tennis courts and nature trails. You can also buy handmade products such as Osilo's bread and Pecorino cheese directly from the producers.

Half an hour drive from Alghero Airport and Porto Torres Harbor. In the village there are bus links with Sassari.

The presence of stairs makes the house difficult for people with walking problems and reduced mobility.

The owner is not present on site but guests will be welcomed and followed by people of extreme confidence. Although residing outside the region, he actively takes care of the home and his guests. The same returns periodically as well as for emotional ties also for a continuous improvement of the house.

Italian flair and nice people

A really great accommodation which is located in the heart of a small placid and charming Italian town. The house is in old Italian style, which is very attractive. We lived there with a group of 8 adults, where especially the kitchen might become quite small sometimes, but it is still sufficient. A special attraction is the fireplace/chimney in the kitchen. Silvano and Paola are really nice and enthusiastic hosts. Concluding, this accommodation can be fully recommended.

It is a wonderful place to stay: convenient to everything, extremely quiet and comfortable

We really had a nice stay in our travel experience in Osilo. Everything went well and smooth , starting with the excellent communication we had with the host Silvano ,where he answered all our questions, to arriving in his BEAUTIFUL apartment that was exactly as described in the booking website. This was our very first experience with Homelidays and we feel spoiled ! The property surpassed our expectations ! In the apartment we had everything we need even a binder , a real book !, of what to do and see in the area, including restaurants and markets. It was a wonderful place to stay: convenient to absolutely everything, and at the same time extremely quiet and comfortable. The rooms were sparkling clean. All the appliances worked in the kitchen, the sheets on the bed were fresh and the towels in the bathrooms deep and fragrant. The furnishings were in excellent condition and very comfortable. Having two separate bathrooms was an added and much appreciated bonus. The lovely kitchen was well equipped and we ate dinner at home once and prepared our morning breakfasts ... We heartedly recommend this apartment , we never wanted to leave…. Thanks you so much for this great experience :-)) Kind regards Monica and Andrea
