History: There are numerous archaeological remains that illustrate the impressive past of Teba from time immemorial, from prehistoric sites to Roman Villas, but perhaps one of the most fascinating stories of Teba is the ill-fated feat of the group of Scottish knights led by Sir James Douglas, who With the mission to take to the Holy Land the embalmed heart of its King Robert The Bruce (Brave Heard), fell in an ambush of the Muslim troops at the feet of the majestic castle of the Star that crowns and gives identity to the town of Teba .
Every year is celebrated the feat of Sir James Douglas and his brave knights at Douglas Day, which attracts thousands of Scots and history buffs to Teba. In more recent times, historical figures of special relevance had their palaces in this town, as the Empress Eugenia de Montijo.
