The apartment is spacious, clean and bright. The balcony is large with lovely views to the sea.
We were a family of 4 staying in the apartment for 2 weeks . We arrived late in the evening and were met by the owner. As it was late and we were tired, the owner and a friend cooked us a typical home made Dalmatian meal which was delicious and very welcome! Every few days the owner would bring us a large bowl of fresh figs from her garden, they were so delicious. The apartment has plenty of space. The third bedroom is small but fine for a young child. There's is only one bathroom in the apartment. The Air conditioning unit is in the kitchen only, but fans are provided for both double bedrooms. We stayed the last two weeks in August and with the windows open (there are insect grills so mosquitoes were not an issue) and the fans blowing, it was very comfortable. There is a 2 ringed hob in the kitchen and a microwave oven which was fine. The Kastels are lovely, all a bit different from one another, so definitely worth visiting all of them. Eating out in restaraunts can be quite expensive but look out for the "fast food" outlets, the food in most of these is really good, freshly cooked and tasty. We only discovered these towards the end of our stay unfortunately, otherwise we would have had dinner at these outlets most nights (they will wrap everything in foil if you want to bring it home to eat). We ventured into Trogir several times which is a lovely town. We had a car for the duration of our stay so we travelled up and down the coast and also visited the Krka National Park. We hired a speedboat for a day (expensive) went white water rafting (great) and the kids completed their PADI open water diving course. If you are staying for just a week and just want to relax, you can hire bicycles for the week which will be great for visiting the Kastelas along the cost road. There is a bus that will take you to Split or Trogir. Croatia is beautiful but more expensive than Europe, the Croatians are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Crime is virtually non existent and we felt safe at all times. Be careful where you park, we got towed away as we hadn't realised we had parked in a residents only zone. It is usual to tip 10% as standard and 15% for exceptional service. Although we went at the busiest part of the year, we never had any difficulty in getting a table at a restaraunt.
