About this property

Private Tuscan Villa with Pool

La Verina is a beautifully restored Tuscan villa located in the heart of Tuscany. Surrounded by forests, olive groves and far reaching countryside. Just over an hour from Pisa airport, La Verina is situated between the medieval towns of San Gimignano and Volterra and within an easy drive of Siena and Florence. The perfect house for families and friends to wind down and relax whilst enjoying the peace and tranquility of this comfortable home-from-home.

A charming 18th century villa situated in the heart of rural Tuscany, La Verina is located on the border of the provinces of Pisa and Firenze the house rests on a plateau overlooking olive groves and farmland with far-reaching views towards the coastline of Livorno.
A secluded house resting amidst ancient Tuscan forests, La Verina’s closest neighbours are the deer, porcupine, wild boar, eagles and the flora and fauna surrounding the property. We hope that you enjoy your time at La Verina and that the very special atmosphere of the house leaves you both refreshed and relaxed.

Originally built by a mining corporation from the South West of England, La Verina served as a base for the workers of the copper mine located a km away, below the house you can still see a good deal of interesting architectural archaeology including the original chimney of the copper cleaning house.

After WWII the house became abandoned and fell into disrepair. Thankfully in the 1980’s it was purchased by its current owners and the villa, cottage, and mill sympathetically restored over time.
Throughout the property you will find original pieces of unique art including junk-art, resting comfortably alongside Italian antiques, artisan and Arabic designs which are part of the owner’s private collection of contemporary art.
