About this property

Evia

The Sea House is located right by the seaside and boasts astounding sea views and direct access to a beach in front of the house. It is decorated by fusing a modern, minimal and a contemporary Aegean island style offering a unique holiday experience. The way the house is designed and positioned allows guests to enjoy a luxurious vacation with all modern amenities, while also feeling immersed in the surrounding landscape, local nature and the breath-taking images it offers.

The house sits on 5.500sqm of land, and is surrounded by sea, olive trees and green. The garden fuses with the seaside, and it offers the opportunity to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner outdoors while enjoying the astounding views across the cobalt blue sea and the mountains of the Attica region across it.
The house boasts four bedrooms ,three with double beds and one with double sofa-bed, two bathrooms, a kitchen fully equipped with all modern amenities and a living room with the same magnificent views described above. It has been interior-designed, furnished and decorated with love and personal attention to a high standard, with the aim of creating a milieu that is harmonious with the surrounding environment and culture and provides a very comfortable, soothing and relaxing atmosphere for guests to enjoy.
A master bedroom with A/C on the 1st floor of the house enjoys unique and uninterrupted views across the sea and blue horizon. It allows guests to wake up with a breath-taking view that will surely remain unforgettable. The second master bedroom on the 1st floor with an A/C offers remarkable views across the countryside and the mountains at the other end of the horizon.
The two bedrooms on the lower ground floor are built in the traditional way so that they offer a maximum cooling temperature throughout the hot summer months. Though they don’t offer a view, the experience of sleeping in the all-white minimal yet traditional Aegean Sea / Cycladic environment and cool temperatures they offer, especially in the hot summer months, I find is an experience unique in its own way.
The floors are wooden in the living room and in the two master bedrooms and tiled in the other two bedrooms to ensure the most efficient temperature levels in the summertime. Also, there are remote-controlled ceiling fans installed in all bedrooms offering cool temperatures and a smooth sleeping experience. Two of the bedrooms have flat-screen TV’s installed.
The living room has A/C and is designed to allow guests to enjoy time in, while also still in full view of the sea and horizon. The lighting is installed in a way that can accommodate any need at any time of the day, while also contributing actively in the creation of the soothing atmosphere of the interior and exterior landscapes.
There is one large SMART 40" TV in the living room with access to a lot of free-view digital channels. I have also included some books with remarkable photography captured across the Hellenic terrain and the truly exceptional landscapes it includes. Please take great care when reading them, they are a precious treasure .
The house boasts a strong Wi-Fi Internet connection which will adequately cover all your online needs.

Interaction with guests
I really enjoy welcoming my guests personally to show them around the Sea House. At check-in, I will provide all the information required to make your stay smooth and unforgettable. I would also be very happy to offer recommendations, and tips on Evia island and the many sites, monuments, museums, archaeological sites and beaches worth visiting.
Perhaps you prefer staying away from the usual places tourists are encouraged to visit and would like to explore less well-known beaches and sites, mostly preferred by locals? Just let me know and I will suggest specific locations.
During the stay, I am available if needed. I like to respect discretion as it is often a well-sought ingredient for a relaxing and memorable holiday.

Neighbourhood-Location
The Sea House is located in a very quiet and scenic area overlooking the South Euboean Gulf sea, only a few km from the seaside village of Amarynthos on the island of Evia. The location allows guests to enjoy all the advantages of a traditional Greek sea culture, immersed in a picturesque landscape with both mountain and sea views and enjoying the sea and local culture, while only being a short drive (approximately 1hr and 30 minutes) from Athens, with its vast historical, cultural and archaeological sites, vibrant day- and nightlife and millenia-old history. Daily visits to Athens are an easy way to view this great city returning to your own private seaside villa at the end of the day for a quick swim. Perhaps a dive at dusk while all the sky takes on an interesting palette of colours might be a way to relax after a full day visiting Athens. Perhaps you might prefer just enjoying the rich local culture throughout your stay and just chilling out at the villa by the sea until your mind and body gets attuned to the sea, the sun and the blue sky and you feel energised and refreshed. The village of Amarynthos offers many gastronomic choices for wining and dining, from traditional Greek ‘home-cooked’ food, and excellent meat and fish choices to great traditional pastry and sweets. It also has a number of super markets, pharmacies and local shops. During the day, one can enjoy coffee or cocktails in the local seaside cafes and/or ouzo, retsina, local wines and tsipouro, perhaps accompanied by some local nibbles in one of the many seaside tavernas. If you are up for a drink enjoying the sea view in the evening, a few bars that play Greek and foreign pop music offer drinks and cocktails until the early hours of the morning. Another great plus regarding the location of the house is that it is situated in the centre of Evia island. This allows a number of opportunities for visits to other parts of this beautiful island, whose landscapes vary from mountainous regions with pine forests descending all the way to the sea shore in the North and centre of the island, to typical Aegean / Cycladic rocky and dry landscapes emerging onto the cobalt blue Aegean Sea in the South. I would be very happy to provide tips as to the most remarkable beaches and locations worth visiting in the area - and beyond! The wider area the house is situated in is of great archaeological importance, spanning a millenia-old history across a number of civilisations and historical periods. The ancient city of Eretria, a site of vast archaeological significance, with its precious archaeological museum, archaic theatre and other capturing excavations, is only a 10-15-minute drive from the house.

Getting around
A car is recommended to further enrich your experience of staying in the Sea House and to visit the many unique places that Evia island has to offer. However, an on-call taxi service also operates in Amarynthos and could serve guests for their transport needs. Fares may vary and though usually reasonable for short distances, they may still be quite well-priced, hence the recommendation for a car.

Access
From the Athens Centre or the Athens International Airport by car:
Amarynthos, the picturesque village close to the Sea House, is only:
• A 105-km drive from the city of Athens usually taking approximately 1h 30m.
• A 124-km drive from the ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ Athens International Airport usually taking 1h 35m.
You can drive to Amarynthos from Athens, through Chalkis, the capital of Evia island. After taking the E75 leaving Athens turn at the E75 junction at Schimatari, taking the route 11 towards Chalkis. Then the route 44 towards Amarynthos.
If you want you have the choice of further reducing that drive! You can drive from Athens to Oropos Port (Skala Oropou on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)) which is:
• 70 km and approximately 50 min from the airport through Attiki Odos and then taking the direction Oropos Ferry Boat.
• 52 km and approximately 51 mins from the city centre of Athens through the E75 and then taking the direction Oropos Ferry Boat.
You can then catch the 25-minute scenic ferry ride which departs every hour straight to Eretria. The drive to Amarynthos and the Sea House from Eretria is then only another 12-15 minutes. The cost of the ferry is 8 euros car + driver/ 2 euros for each extra person.

From Athens by public transport:
If arriving from Athens by public transport it would be best to inquire with the host to determine best and most cost and time effective choice of route.

From other parts of Greece by car:
Amarynthos is very easily accessible by car from any part of Greece as it is conveniently located only 45 km from the main highway E75 which runs through and connects a large part of the country.
It is also very easily accessible for visitors arriving to Greece from Italy through the ports of Patras and/or Igoumenitsa, as well as through the northern Greek border and through Thessaloniki.
From the E75 junction at ‘Schimatari’, take the 11 towards Chalkis and then the 44 towards Amarynthos. The drive from the E75 ‘Schimatari’ Junction to Amarynthos typically only takes 40-45 minutes.

From other parts of Greece by public transport:
If arriving from other parts of Greece by public transport it would be best to inquire with the host to determine best and most cost and time effective choice of route.

Lovely seaside property
Lovely compact very tastefully decorated, well kept and designed property with wonderful view of sea and own stretch of beach. Well equipped and stocked. Only problems were with one of drains and with ceiling fans/lights being all set on same remote frequency - the latter was a source of endless amusement at night! The owners Pavlos and Eleni are lovely and very helpful. The property is well located with lots seaside cafes in nearby towns and ruins to explore. The owners Pavlos and Eleni are lovely and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

A lovely place
Eleni and Pavlos opened their hearts to me and my family and accommodated us in their lovely cottage, the house is two floors and a basement, clean, tidy and tastefully decorated with everything needed for a stay, radiates calmness and within a few hours the calmness affects everyone, the sea at the doorstep of the house is clear and wonderful ( recommended beach shoes because of the small stones, at the entrance to the water, not mandatory) the town with ice cream restaurants and a supermarket pleasant and just 2km distance, if you are not lazy you can walk there, we have collected good experiences and we will be happy to visit again thanks

Nice vacation on the seaside
The dwelling is ideal for families that want to spend their vacation on the beach and enjoy the calmness. The apartment is quite big and clean, you have two baths and a big terrace where you can enjoy your meals. There are only a few steps to the almost private beach. Air conditioning makes the heat not a problem. The hosts are very hospitable and helpful. You must better have a car to get there and to do daily suppliances. The beach has stones, thus better wear the appropriate shoes for swimming. But these are all small things that would not disturb your vacation.

Entspannung pur!

A loving mother and a caring woman, trying to provide the best for the people that surround her.
I love travelling to destinations that allow me to rest, read novels and write poetry. "The sea house" is the perfect place for that purpose, as it provides a perfect mix of different natures elements.
I believe in continuous learning and personal growth, as Socrates said "As I live, I learn".
