Delightful, 19th century, stone-built, Provencale holiday rental farm house with superb swimming pool in idyllic location in the sought-after Luberon Regional Natural Park, Provence, South of France. Sleeps 2 to 12 persons in comfort surrounded by scenic countryside. Also available in 2 parts, each wing accommodating 2-6p comfortably and completely independently. A former silk farm, this lovingly restored authentic Provencale farmhouse offers oodles of character (terracotta floor tiles, exposed stone and beams, lime washed walls) as well as every comfort. Perfect location 1 mile village centre or just 10 mins. conservation village of Lourmarin, twixt Aix-en-Provence and Avignon. Nestled on a gentle hillside in a tiny hamlet on the edge of a village, in the very heart of the Luberon Park, amidst many reputed hilltop villages, daily Provencale markets, vineyards, lavender fields, orchards, olive groves and historic sites. Direct access from this characterful stone-built farmhouse by foot, bike or horse to the Luberon Park trails and walks and much more.

If you prefer to take just one wing as a self-contained 2-bedroomed unit for 2 to 6 persons with private garden, but shared pool, then this option is also available to you (see Les Muriers: the East Wing detailed separately for your information).

Availability: The farmhouse is typically Provencale in style and character with great, thick solid stone walls and a terracotta tiled roof. It boasts many original features such as exposed beams and stone and antique, waxed terracotta tiles in parts. Thanks to its traditional construction, this Luberon farmhouse offers both a spacious, cool and airy home in the Summer and a warm, cosy, bright home in the winter. There are also mosquito nets and fans for your comfort during summer nights and mostly double-glazed windows for your comfort all year round. There is an impressive open log fireplace in the living room in the East Wing, ideally suited to winter lets. At certain periods we are also happy to offer alternative B and B accommodation.

Wonderful Property and welcoming owners!

We recently stayed at the Les Murier (west wing) with our 3 children (ages 15, 11, 6). This was one of our best holidays ever! The Property is located at the heart of the Luberon which enabled us to take daily trips to the regions various attractions. The House is delightfuly decorated a la "proveance" style thanks to the owner's good taste. Very clean and well maintained, with fully equiped kitchen, 3 toilets and 2 bathrooms, as well as spacious living room. It has a beautiful seperate garden area with BBQ and ping pong, where we had our dinners. The pool was the highlight, especially for the kids who spent most of the afternoons there. The owners, Andree and Bernard are wonderful and delightful people, and were very friendly and welcoming at all times. This was especially helpful as they are on site and we do not speak French. We already recommeneded this place to all our friends and hopefully would love to return soon again!

A comfortable home in a great location

If you like the Luberon, walking, local markets, Avignon, Aix-au-Provence, Arles, Cassis, then stay at Les Murier or Les Olivier. It is the ideal location to explore this beautiful part of Provence. Our apartment was perfect for our family with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, clean and well-equipped. The owner was on site and very friendly and welcoming. We'd love to come back.

Les Borrys/Les Muriers

Les Borrys? Les Muriers? No, never heard of it.....ssshhhhh Provence’s best kept secret!

A simply perfect week, but you’ll need to make it two to take advantage of this idyllic and very well appointed farmhouse retreat – rustic, but with a pool, dishwasher, fridge, washingmachine, poolside fridge, separate garden area and BBQ, three toilets/bathrooms, Sky TV and ping pong! There are plenty of local food markets, beautiful scenery and of course excellent wine. Les Muriers is the bigger of the two properties on offer – it does sleep 6 but 2 of those would have to be a sofa bed in, it also has direct access to the pool although the accommodation is up a flight of stairs. Owners are deligthful and very helpful for things to do and very child friendly. You'll be wise to book early.

A place to relax comfortably

We, that is a family of 9 persons between 45 and 84, stayed in this 19th century farmhouse last May. It was simply wonderful there. Everything was so tidy, clean and spacious. It was also comfortable - even for our parents who can't walk very well. Everything was just as we had read before in the description. We liked to sit at the long breakfast table next to a perfectly equipped kitchen in the morning, went sightseeing after that - there are lots of interesting places within an hour's drive - and relaxed at the pool in the late afternoon. In the evening we had some BBQs a few metres from the poolhouse and went swimming in the late night - this was no problem, because of the pool floodlight. The owner was extremely helpful; not only with her suggestions about what to see and what to do, where to shop and which restaurants to visit. She even helped us with her credit card when we weren't able to get some fuel at a supermarket filling station. Meanwhile we recommended her house and the facilities to lots of our friends.

Location, location, location! Character, construction (cool in the summer, cosy in the winter thanks to its 45cm thick solid stone walls). Its idyllic setting in the south of the majestic Luberon Park; you can stroll directly out from the farmhouse into the hills and mountains of the Luberon, through the forest, the valleys, the summits, the springs, and as you walk, the air fills with the unforgettable scents of rosemary, thyme and summer savoury and the vistas and topography are quite simply breathtakingly beautiful, as is the Provencale light.
