This charming houseboat is perfectly located at the border of the Jordan area a nice canal on the sunny side, just opposite of a small harbor,
close to shops and markets.
The boat has a bedroom with a large double bed, a big bathroom with shower and a separate toilette.
A full equipped kitchen with a Nespresso machine and a gas stove, fridge and freezer.
A living room with a flat - screen TV, DVD, and a stereo system. Fast Internet.
There is an extra sleeping possibility on the sofa in the living room for parents traveling with children.
A nice terrace on the water you will love the swans and other water birds and the whole atmosphere of living on the water in Amsterdam.

Boat House Horror

We arrived at the Boat House which had no lighting outside and was dark. We realised straight away looking at the other Boat Houses that this was not going to be good. Having entered the accommodation our hearts sank, it was disgusting, dirty and very very unclean, unkept and outdated. I have lots of pictures of what we found as evidence, dirty fridge, dirty cupboards, baked good inside the microwave, the bedding and mattress were both stained. We left and didn’t spend one night there out of a five night booking. If you ever book this property I would rate it at 1 star. In comparison we paid half the price per night for a Four Star hotel in Dam Square as opposed to a disgusting dirty house boat. Happy to provide pictures to anyone wanting to try before you buy

Really great place near the heart of the city

This was a great location. It was near the heart of Amsterdam, but without all the noise and excessive people. Staying in a boat was a nice experience. We will likely do it again.

Quiet retreat in the heart of the city!

The houseboat was absolutely fantastic Getting in early, our host Hedy was amazing and allowed us to drop-off our bags and change into some fresh clothes and texted us a couple hours later when the place was ready. She gave us a tour of the place and even left us a yummy bottle of cava to enjoy! We booked a houseboat with the expectation that things might be a bit cramped, but were pleasantly surprised to find the boat to be much more spacious than we anticipated. The kitchen was beautiful. The bathroom was spacious with a simple, yet great shower(tall showerhead, good pressure, plenty of space). The bedroom was comfy and dark, perfect for sleeping in. And the living room was large with comfortable couches and a dining table. The best part was the patio space, off the backend of the boat. Many days, we would return to the boat in the afternoon to relax and recharge, sitting out in the incredible weather. We also finished most nights with a glass of wine outside. The comfort of the space, the neighborhood, the vibe - all perfect. Having a week in the city, we were able to explore every neighborhood; which only made us love our area more and more. With the boat located on a quiet canal, we felt such a rejuvenating sense of solitude. And still, it only ever took a 5-10 minute walk to get to a much more bustling area of town. So, we really got the best of both worlds! For a magical lodging experience completely unique to the city, look no further!

What a fantastic “something different”

Hubs and I felt like we were getting a warm hug from the boat itself. Not modern, but a solid and most enjoyable stay. The boat had everything you could need. It’s on a canal with not much traffic, so quiet and peaceful. It’s a nice break after being out in the action all day. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!!

Alles war so wie beschrieben. Die Lage des Hausboots und das Hausboot selbst waren toll. Wir haben alles fußläufig erreicht und haben uns total wohl gefühlt, so wie richtige Amsterdamer.

Why they chose this property

The property is a houseboat and to experience living on the water is so nice. It feels as you would love somewhere in the countryside but you are in the center of Amsterdam.
10 min away from the Anne Frank house. The Harleemer straat is close by with a farity of restaurants bars shops and cinema. On the Westerstraat you find a market every Monday from 9.30 am until 2 pm. The Noordemarkt is also close by. You can buy organic food but also cloth and antics. The market is every Monday and Saturday from morning to afternoon.

The houseboat is very charming and you will have sun all day long on the terrase.
The kitchen is fully equipped and you can feed the swans out of the kitchen window.
The boot is clean and provides all what you need for your stay. A TV and a good sound systhem
