About this property

Barn Loft on a Welsh hill farm in the Brecon Beacons

Set like a jewel in the beautiful Brecon Beacons, the Barn Loft is super luxurious accommodation. Both cosy and private it's a place to snuggle down and get away from it all. It is snug, light, airy and free of draughts. It has a comfortable feeling and is well centrally heated from the farm biomass heating system. If the weather is good it is an ideal location for outdoor pursuits. If the weather is poor, stay inside and be cosy, reading, watching DVDs, listening to music, playing games.

The Barn Loft is made up of a open plan kitchen and lounge. There is a spacious, fully furnished bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The bed is king sized and has a super sumptuous 'Baavet' duvet (made in the UK, 100% British pure wool filling) and John Lewis luxury mattress toppers for an extra comfy nights sleep. The Loft has been completely redecorated and refurnished in May 2016. It has been refurbished with attention to detail to provide luxury accommodation. The bed linen and towels are all by John Lewis. The furnishings are solid oak and there are tiffany style table lamps. There are many beautiful pictures and items of interest on display. The flat has; a power shower with plenty of hot water a DVD player and bluetooth sound bar for playing your own music lots of DVDs, books, games and puzzles a fridge, freezer and microwave as well as all the usual kitchen equipment The farm has; a laundry with washing machines and dryers room in the barn for bike storage and drying equipment a garden and BBQ that guests are welcome to enjoy The farm itself is open to you to go for walks. There is a wonderful view of Pen-y-Fan from the top of the farm and plenty of wildlife to see with red kites and buzzards constantly circling up and down the valley. We also have woodlands - ancient, deciduous and conifer and a stream flowing along the lower border of the farm all of which you are welcome to explore.

The Barn Loft sits in the main farm complex in the main 16th century barn. You have your own access and come and go as you please. The private entrance to the attic is via a wooden external stairway at the rear of the barn.

The farm is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park - "from the depths of its limestone caves to the grandeur of Pen y Fan and Cribyn, its highest peaks, there’s plenty to explore in this gem of a national park. By day, there are moorlands, trails and towns to discover, while by night, you can feast your eyes on the stars" (URL HIDDEN) The closest amenities are in Sennybridge village where there is a fuel station, small village shop and post office. To the east is the cathedral town of Brecon and historic market town of Llandovery.

There is a laundry in the barn that guests are welcome to use. The barn can also be used for drying and storage of bikes etc.

The farm is home to 5 horses 5 chickens 5 British White cows 4 ducks 1 cat and a dog. You are welcome to be accompanied by one well behaved dog. Note that this is a sheep farming area. Also beware that the chickens are free range and must not be disturbed. Please towel dry your dogs feet!

An absolute gem
We had a wonderful weeks holiday in the barn loft. Arrival was easy and the accommodation was spotless and a never ending supply of hot water. Hugh and his wonderful dogs were welcoming. A 20 minute drive to most walks in the area or the nearest main town of Brecon. Would love to go back soon.

This gem of a place was just perfect. The Barn Loft had everything that we needed. Stunning views.
Just perfect. Would certainly come again if in this area. So quiet and peaceful. The farm itself was lovely to wander around with wonderful views. Although tucked away down quiet country lanes there are pubs, garages and tourist attractions close by. Well worth a visit to re-charge your batteries.
