About the property

2 bedrooms, 1 bathoroom Kitchen and dining area, lounge, hot-tub, decked area

The property is situated within the owners own grounds. The barn conversation was completed in May 2010 and made into a bright, spacious living space. It has a large open plan lounge with a wood burning stove (for those cosy nights in) and sky TV so you don't miss any TV favourites, with a well equipped kitchen and dining area. There is a king sized bedroom and a double bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space and hair dryers. There is a large bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. French doors

open out to a vast decked area where a hot-tub is situated as is a gas barbecue and sun loungers. This is an enclosed area so very safe for children and dogs A separate room houses the washing machine and dryer. For those with a bit more energy there is a tennis court with balls and rackets. A heated outside pool for you exclusive use is also available from June - September.

The village of North Stoke: North Stoke is about 5 Miles outside Bath. It is on the Cotswold Way and really does have the most fantastic views, in fact being high up we can see both Bath and Bristol. Ideal for dog walkers and guests who enjoy exploring their surroundings. The Stables are situated on the side of a Roman Road and surrounded in history. It is now only used by walkers and the occasional farmer tending his sheep and new lambs which are visible from the property. There are 3 local pubs all in walking distance who all do good reasonable food. There is a church in the village dating back to the Saxon times

There are 2 local golf clubs a short drive away and a fishing lake 2 miles away.

Bath Race Course is within a 1 mile walk. Throughout Summer race nights are put on and the centre of the course is made available for families. Here you can picnic, barbecue and also place your bets on the racing.

Events: The Beaufort Polo Club is a 30 minute drive away. Here between 27th April to 17th September every weekend Polo is played. Situated amongst the tranquility and beauty of the Cotswold countryside, the speed and energy of the sport proves to be a vast contrast. Matches start usually at 3.00pm, so take a picnic, enjoy the surroundings and be enthralled by this fast moving exciting sport - and you never know who you may spot!

October - November is one of the best times to visit Westonburt Arboretum where the autumnal highlights are on show and experience the changing colours of Autumn first hand.

From the end of November and through December Westonburt Arboretum has an illuminated trail where you walk through the famous enchanted wood. The children can see Father Christmas and have lots of festive fun. Hear carols sung from local choirs and eat roast chestnuts with mulled wine. And throughout December any little ones can help Santa find his reindeer.

Events: 25th November - 12th December Baths Christmas Market is open. Held next door to the Bath Abbey and Roman Baths it has previously attracted over 200,000 people from all over Britain. Its a Christmas shopping event not to be missed.

We love the stables

  • 5 of 5

This our third visit to the stables. A great place to stay with all you could possibly wish for and more. Some really lovely personal touches to welcome you and also make your stay perfect and so easy.

Hot tub is a real bonus and the pool is lovely if you’re staying when open. So close to the centre of Bath so great for a day out shopping or siteseeing.

A great place for a family stay or just for two.

The owners Lisa and Mike can’t do enough to make your stay perfect and are always on hand should you need anything but let you get on and relax too.

Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Nice luxury stay with the homely cottage feel with the added bonus of a hottub.

Safe to say we loved our stay and will definitely be going back at some point! Many thanks again for the best stay.

Beautiful property, lovely owners & fab location!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we arrived at the property we instantly felt relaxed. The owners were hugely helpful before and during the stay (thanks for the treats!), and the place was absolutely stunning. Beautiful outside area, great hot tub, lovely cosy living space and open plan kitchen with everything we needed. There was great attention to detail in the property - lovely decor, magazines and information on the local area as well as some board games!

It was a great base for walking, and very easy to get to Bath. Overall, we had a glorious, relaxing weekend in this property and we'll definitely be back!

Perfect base for hiking and pampering.

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully presented property in an idyllic and quiet location. All details are well thought through and the equipment is full of lovely little surprises. Although there are 3 top class gastropubs in easy walking distance (easy as in 20-40 minutes, not down the road), the patio with gas barbecue and Jacuzzi wins easily. Worth every penny. We'll be back. ( With dog again)

Secluded Luxury

  • 5 of 5

Perched in a secret village at the top of a hill, this really was a special cottage in the Cotswolds. Nicely located, within easy reach of Bath and Bristol but enjoying a peaceful countryside location. Fabulous facilities, the hot-tub and tennis court were both really fun. Good Sky channels, nice touches like toiletries and blankets etc. Lovely pub a short(ish) walk over fields and lanes. Perfect. We didn't want to leave. Mike and Lisa were lovely hosts, we really appreciated them going the extra mile.

Fantastic Barn Conversion in a Fabulous Location

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived and were greeted so warmly, we knew we had arrived at somewhere very special. We were very grateful for the provisions provided - especially the cold wine and slab of chocolate! Lovely!! The Stables is a lovely barn conversion that provides a really comfortable base in a fantastic setting. Well equipped with everything you could need, from comfortable beds; comfortable seating; fluffy towels; fantastic bathroom etc. Photos - although accurate - barely do justice to the quality of everything provided. It is the same story outside - the best hot tub we have ever had; exceptionally comfortable loungers and a gas BBQ that actually works! The outside is a lovely spacious area and thoughtful touches are provided like comfort blankets that let you stay out till the last possible moment and padded seating for the outside chairs. When you think it could not get any better, just walk round to the outside pool area and tennis courts and be prepared to be wowed by it all. The owners live very close by but our nearest neighbors were 2 donkeys (Albert and George) and a stallion called Surge. They gave us hours of pleasure watching their antics. It was hard to drag ourselves away, but everything is so easy to get to. We got into a routine of leaving after 10 and being back before 4 and yet still visited Bath; Bristol; Cardiff; Glastonbury; Cheddar; Wells; Weston Super Mare and more. Mike let us go scrumping for the chicken eggs - they tasted wonderful. Sorry we pinched your breakfast, Mike! It was very hard to leave at the end of our stay and we have no doubt that we shall be back for another break in the not too distant future. Many, Many, thanks to Lisa and Mike for everything.

The Stables is situated in the beautiful village of North Stoke (once nicknamed the 'Secret Village). Surrounded by open unspoilt countryside and spectacular views of both Bath and Bristol. Set beside a Roman Road and on the Cotswold Way it boasts many fantastic walks - so dogs are always welcome.

Bath is a designated world heritage site. With its impressive grandeur and beautifully preserved Roman Baths and hot springs. With the Royal Crescent, Pump Rooms, Pultney Bridge, The Circus and Assembley Rooms this really is a historians dream! With its connections to Jane Austen and its quaint alleyways filled with designer boutiques and award winning bars and restaurants it can also be a very romantic city. The Thermal Bath Spa is a fairly new addition to Bath. Here you can enjoy the hot spring waters and relax in the roof top pool overlooking this beautiful city. Many visitors also enjoy the organised Ghost Walks around the city which take place in the evening for added atmosphere.
