Casa Anandam is a Newish(4yr) Detached Family villa fitted to a very high standard with marble flooring throughout.It is a 3 bed room villa but can be used as 2 bed room, Popular as 2 bed room during off peak. Rattan furniture, BBC ,ITV on internet based TV. Volcanic wall raised height to increase privacy for our guests.

The villa occupies 2 floors. On the ground floor is a large hallway, 2 twin bedrooms, Marble bathrooms with shower, fully fitted modern kitchen with dishwasher, a utility room with a washing machine, a spacious lounge with 2 settees, SKY channels ,BBC,ITV on internet based TV. Fantastic Alfresco Dining area with seating for 6 people and its own Heated Swimming Pool and surrounded by terracotta tiles with large sunbathing areas. The pool is enclosed in a walled garden hedge. Fitted alarm for security. Upstairs is the third master bedroom suite with Excellent Sea view from Balcony, its own dressing table with mirror, en suite marble bathroom with bath, shower, wc. Sun beds, parasol near the pool. Sea views. Wifi/internet provided at extra charge 25 a week. The villa is 7 mins stroll to some very good restaurants(Spanish Tapas, Italian) coffee bars, pubs(some British with Footie, Sports) cafés, very popular local bakery and 2 mini supermarkets. English breakfast, Sunday roast, pub quiz in local restaurants. 10 mins to the sea. Long term let in winter considered. Excellent reviews from guests, see reviews.

About Owner/Manager

We both work as doctors in the NHS in the UK and to relax, wind down, we wanted our Place In The Sun. UK is a great place to live and work but we do miss the sunshine which is not guaranteed even in the summer. After a bit of research we chose our Place In The Sun in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Lanzarote is a Canarian island with all the year round sunshine. Even in November, December the average Temp. 20 degree. It has a beautiful, unique volcanic landscape excellent beaches and activities for all groups. After being to property exhibition and speaking to Amanda and Jasmine our choice was clear. Year purchased: June 2012.

We wanted a villa in a quiet relaxing area that is close to the town centre, local beaches and shops. The vast outdoor area ensures we enjoy maximum sunshine by relaxing at the swimming pool and extended sun bathing or shaded area. We all love to have a barbecue at Alfresco or outside dining area. There are restaurants, cafés, bars and supermarkets all within walking distance. The coastal path and bus stop to take us all around the island it is at a walking distance. Playa Blanca is a family friendly resort with excellent beaches, marina, restaurants and a ferry service to neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. This villa has been built by a reputable local builder with marble flooring through out. The upstairs bedroom and balcony have excellent views.

Quiet but not far off from the beaches and town centre. Excellent sea views, heated pool with large terrace, barbecue, alfresco dining. High quality of finish with marble flooring. Leisure facilities include Wifi, Sky HD TV, Blu-Ray/DVD player, games and books. Secure alarm, electric common gates. Only few minutes Walk is Faro Park centre with some nice Italian restaurants, Spanish Tapas ,Cafe Pub, Bakery and 2 minimarkets. The centre has a bus stop with half hourly bus to Playa Blanca town centre and beaches. Not to forget consistent sunshine in this Beautiful island 365 days a year.

Fantastic Villa and perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday!

We booked this villa for two of us to have a relaxing quiet week in the sun to read books and sunbathe. The villa is set in a secure gated complex and about a 35 min drive from the airport. First impressions were fantastic. A great sized pool, three bedrooms (one with en-suite), another large bathroom and a nice living room/kitchen area. Outside of the villa there are loads of seating spaces for dinner/socialising etc so i would say that 6 adults could easily share this without it feeling too small.

Upon arrival it was a nice touch as there was some basic food/bottle of wine left for us. This was useful as we arrived @ 7pm so didn't fancy heading out that night. There are also some takeaway leaflets in the villa booklet (really concise and clearly presented) which deliver to the complex.

I would strongly recommend that hiring a car is useful for this villa as there isn't much around within a close walk. We hired with autoreisen on the internet (desk at the airport) who were really easy to deal with and there is no hard sell on additional insurance etc - it's all included in the upfront price. Driving in Lanzarote is pretty easy too and there is an allocated space at the villa.

Playa Blanca resort is about a 10 min drive (45min walk) from the villa and there is ample parking there (just before you reach the main strip). It's quite a small resort but has a nice feel to it and lots of cafes/bars in the port area. We visited one night for dinner and it's a nice walking along the promenade. It's also where most of the supermarkets are to stock up for the villa. We got a taxi to and from Playa Blanca which cost about €6 each way.

Closer to the villa there is 'Faro Park' strip which has approx 5-6 restaurants and a couple of bars. This is a 10 min walk from the villa & we went for dinner there a couple of nights. There is a really nice Italian restaurant there & the Indian was also good. Eating out prices aren't too different from the UK (especially with the current £:€ rate).

The villa has lots of nice extras, the tv has all english/sky channels which was good for staying in on an evening. The washing machine/dishwasher were all easy to use & each room has a pedestal fan. We stayed in late Sept so that was adequate for us, note the villa doesn't have air con.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, if you're wanting a quiet break or to drive about & explore then this is a perfect base. We would definitely return!!

Misrepresentation of facilities i.e. No Usable Pool and Poor customer service

We arrived at night in the pitch black as no street lights near the entrance of the villa and the outside light had not been left on despite the owner knowing what time we'd be arriving. We had to use the light on my phone to enter the key code.

There is an uneven ramp where the car is parked and due to no lighting my 72 year old husband had a nasty fall injuring his knee and hitting his face on the ground.

The following day we discovered that the pool lining had come away from the steps and with no rail we were unable to get into or out of the pool. The owner had advised of a "small problem" the day before we were due to arrive and insisted that the pool was usable and that his previous clients had not complained. That is not the point. We could not use the pool and as this was the main reason for booking the villa was extremely disappointing. We were advised that this had happened some time previously so why were we not informed much earlier.(I imagine its because we may have cancelled our booking).

When we advised the owner of the problems we did not receive an apology nor were we contacted by the management team to see if they could offer any help. We did try visiting their office on a number of occasions at the times indicated on the door but it was always closed. No-one came to see the pool or arrange a time for repair

The owner finally offered a 10% discount for the pool problem on Friday. We arrived on Sunday.

The info in the villa advises that if you had a late flight you could contact them to see if you could leave the villa later than the published 10:00. When i asked if it was possible I as told that they would offer this instead of the discount. Astonishing. Very poor customer service. Would he charge others for an extra couple of hours????

Had it not been for the above we would have given our stay a good rating as the villa is of fairly good quality if a little tired but clean and comfortable , however the attitude of the owner was that we should expect wear and tear. Actually I don't. When I pay for a villa with a pool I expect to be able to use the pool.

I would advise the owner to be more honest with his clients and offer solutions like putting in sensor activated lighting outside and when there are "wear and tear" problems he gets them fixed and he employs a management team who actually are interested in his clients comfort and safety.

Owner's Response: I was sorry to hear that a 72 year old gentleman fell when he arrived at 10 pm. As soon as I go e mail, I asked my villa manager if they need any medical help. The villa and surroundings are well lit. There is community lighting on the side of the villa where one parks. The light in front of the villa was switched on. This guest was unhappy about a pool step liner which tore and that happened before arrival of previous guest. The pool was usable and I did apologise for the tear. She was repeatedly(every few minutes) emailing me that pool was unusable, quite abrupt in manner. She was noted using the pool. Previous guest (copied and pasted): "Thanks for your communication last week about the pool, it caused us no issues at all". This guest wrote featured review about my villa dated 2/10/17. The Italian guest following you described villa as lovely. I offered you 10% discount or a late check out at 7 pm due to inconvenience and you chose 10%. A technician came and had a looked at the pool during your stay and mentioned the pool needs emptying and it would take a few days to repair. The nature of the problem was it could not get fixed immediately and I didn't want to empty the pool at inconvenience to guests as it was very usable.When the villa manger office is closed, they are contactable via email or phone. All guests have this information. I am sorry you were angry about me and the villa but I don't agree with most of your comments. I would advise prospective guests to look at the other reviews of the villa. I am getting a new pool liner, not for the steps but the whole pool! Guests please do email me if you want to book this villa but had any queries. I want you to have a nice, relaxing family holiday in a quiet area yet close to local amenities.

Much Better than expected - a real gem

The photo's on the website, do not really do justice to the location and also the quality of the Villa.

We have stayed in Playa Blanca on many occasions, ranging from Front line to more residential, but had never stayed on this development.

Although set back a little from the sea, the views from the terrace do not give this impression, and you can while away the evenings watching the ferry boats and the occasional Cruise Liner, going about their business.

The development is gated and secure, and very private.

The outdoor space is a lot larger than expected, and the pool a good size and temperature.

Inside, the furnishings are of a good quality, with pretty much everything that you would need.

Like others, I would recommend a car - we always do, in order that you can get out and about and see a little more of the Island.

Our recommendation for Car Hire is always Autoreisen - not the fasted at pick up, but they never try to stitch you up on the fuel policy unlike most of the other suppliers - just take it back with the same amount that you had on pick up.

Overall, a really good, high quality villa, in a quiet and private location, with pretty much everything that you need - including English TV, good quality beds and even a hand pump for inflating the Lilo's !!

Beautiful Villa, had everything needed to make a great holiday.

Would probably hire a car next time as it was bit out of the way, but this has it's advantages like peace and quiet around the Villa.

Raju and the Property Management Team were great also.

I guess the best demonstration is that I will be back as soon as I get the chance.

Nice villa but needs some tlc

The villa is a great size and has everything you need but it could do with some tlc.

The location was a bit to far out for us and a car I would say is essential.

The 10 minute walk (short cut) to the restaurants/shop is ok during day light but at night it wasn't very nice down a dark ally unless you wanted to walk the long way round.

To get to the beach or the shopping it was a bus journey which was cheap enough.

The owner communication was good and always responded to any questions.

But I'm afraid to say we wouldn't go back.

There are many relaxing sightseeing places including numerous secluded coved beaches with the Papagayo being one of the best only 10 minutes drive from the villa, as well as rocky shorelines for the children to explore with their fishing nets. Ferry from Playa Blanca to Corralejo, Fuerteventura to explore this beautiful island.
