Disappointing choice. Maintenance and cleanliness issues.
I chose this property because it had two double bedrooms and two bathrooms and it suited our needs. It didn't disappoint on this level. It is modern in design and the location is very good, being ideally situated to explore the Suffolk Heritage Coast and the nearby towns and villages. Unfortunately, this property is a prime example of style over substance. Soon after our arrival we realised that there were several issues with the maintenance, cleanliness and lack of equipment provided. It was obvious that this property is in the care of an agency and that it is not maintained and cleaned directly by an owner. It had a complete lack of any personal touches. On arrival there was no welcome pack provided not even a pint of milk in the fridge so that we could make a cup of tea. I stay in self catering accommodation a few times a year and I can honestly say that this was one of the worse equipped properties that I have ever stayed in and certainly the worse in recent years. Some of our issues were:- The kettle had never been descaled and was rusty and full of limescale. The filter on the drinking water tap had not been changed and the tap was thick with limescale, making the water undrinkable (we had to buy bottled water to drink and make hot drinks with ). The icebox in the fridge looked like it hadn't been defrosted in years. The clock in the living room was broken and didn't work. The table light decoration in the living room didn't work. There were broken unusable chairs left in the garden. The bracket holding the shower glass in place was missing a screw and wasn't fixed. The headboard on the bed was worn and peeling. As for cleanliness:- The sofa covers were dirty and stained. Some of the wine glasses had been left so dirty that they were unusable. The oven trays were dirty and the grill tray had been left all greasy underneath. There were numerous cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and behind the doors etc. (which hadn't just appeared). The barbeque had been left with the previous users ashes in it and it was uncleaned and unusable. If none of the aforementioned bothers you, then by all means, go ahead and stay there. My advice would be to use your money to find alternative accommodation in the area which would offer you better value. If anyone should doubt any of my observations, I took photographic evidence of everything before I left which I intend to post on Google as I am a Google Guide.
