On the highest point you can find the spectacular Panzano Castle. The comfortable and luxurious apartment makes for the perfect love nest. Panzano Castle dates back from the 11th century, and has 7 meters high ceilings with wooden beams, but all modern luxuries are present in this amazing property.
It consists of a complete kitchen to prepare your gourmet dinner with friends, seating no less than 6 people, a very large livingroom with 2 Romeo and Juliet balconies. Panzano Castle is the most romantic home of Tuscany, therefor we have welcomed more than 100 honeymooners already. So join in if you seek a romantic holiday in Tuscany !
In order to refresh yourself, please note that at a short driving distance from Panzano is a little scenic lake where you can sit and enjoy the view, and take a swim !

Charming and rustic village life

We loved our little castle apt despite it's rustic charm, a bit heavy on the rustic at times. The place is beautifully decorated and the views are magnificent. It is in the village so you should expect some hills and cobble stones, the parking a bit away from the place didn't bother me. If you want to park at the front door don't stay in the middle of the old villages. The patio is lovely but not really conducive for lounging or eating breakfast, just a bit small. We visited the pool one day and it is really nice. If you want lunch there they need a days notice. The village is sweet and we loved the little wine bar around the corner even ate dinner there one night. We had no problem finding the place once we got onto the 222 but the directions from the airport are vague so recommend gps. our phone with google maps was a great gps for everywhere.

Magical

Wonderful place...like a dream. Amazing views, friendly and informative owner and housekeeper. The restaurant Cantinetta Sassolini, just 1 min way way under the bridge, was out of this world! Thank you Michael, i'll never forget this place. If you are ever thinking of selling this place, do let me know!

Breathtaking Tuscan Views

We just concluded our 1 week stay in this spacious castle apartment. Apartment is possibly even better than described. You know those paintings you see of Tuscany and you think maybe the artist is taking some artistic liberties? The view you have from the front balcony is even better than that! Truly spectacular scenery. Vineyards & olive trees as far as the eye can see. Panzano is the perfect location from which to explore the entire area of Tuscany. You will find that you don’t have to leave the village to find a great winery and excellent restaurants. You have 2 excellent restaurants about a 1 minute walk from the castle. The cafes, bars and enotecas offered great places for morning coffee, gelato or a relaxing glass of wine. We found everyone to be very friendly and helpful. Definitely do not miss the Sunday market. We stocked up on cheeses, fruit and vegetables for the entire week’s breakfasts. You can also get toiletry items. Best of all you can buy incredible leather goods (purses, wallets, belts) for extremely good prices. Do bring Euros since many of the vendors do not take credit cards. The little grocery stores had the meats and bread not found at the market. Get your bread (don’t miss the dark bread) from the little store just down the hill from the church on the right hand side. Apartment was clean and well maintained. The “housekeeper/property manager” was very friendly and helpful. When she saw us coming or going she made sure we were finding everything and enjoying our stay. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend highly to our friends.

King of the Castle

We had a wonderful week staying in the Castle. Although a little hard to find initially (make sure you get exact directions), that was forgotten as soon as we walked up the stairs and saw the magnificent view. The apartment is spacious, tastefully decorated and well equipped for self catering. The view from the balcony is truly breathtaking. It was a great base for day trips to Siena, Florence, Volterra and San Gimagnano. Being a hot summer week, we especially appreciated being able to use the pool at the nearby B&B, though as others have said the road there is a little tricky. Another highlight of the week was a visit to the Accademia Dell Buon Gusto and the time we spent there with Stefano who’s love for life (and wine) is contagious. Also having restaurants and an alimentary just 100 metres down the main street from the castle was great. One drawback is that there is no car parking at the Castle and, if you have a car, you will need to park it in the public parking area which is within view of the Castle. We would thoroughly recommend Panzano and the Castle to anyone planning a holiday in Tuscany.

Unforgettable

I stayed for two weeks in your place in Panzano and I doubt if I'll ever forget them. There was much to see and do--Dario's butcher shop, the Sunday market, the world-class restaurants in the village, the proximity and beautiful drive to other villages in the region--places like Volpaia--but there was so much beauty and peace just being in the castle that I returned home to San Francisco much restored. I can't recommend Michiel's place highly enough.
