About this property

Modern private villa with large pool, sleeps up to 8 with cinema/games room

This stunning modern villa is in a beautiful rural location on the outskirts of the pretty white town (pueblo blanco) of Alora. It is situated down a quiet country lane only 40 minutes from Malaga airport. The villa sits in its own generous private plot at the end of a lane with no through traffic. It is gated with plenty of room for secure parking. The villa itself is very spacious with many areas in which to relax both inside and out - 2 lounges, a conservatory, a games room/den, plus an outside kitchen and BBQ area. There is plenty to amuse both adults and children alike ranging from relaxing by the pool, watching movies in the den or playing ping pong or table football.
The villa is ideally situated to suit all holidays as only half an hour from the Costa Del Sol, yet right in the foothills of the mountains with many stunning walks and breath taking scenery. The infamous Caminito Del Rey cliff walk is only a 20 minute drive away, as are the turquoise lakes and El Chorro. There are many ways to enjoy the stunning views: walking is very popular in the area, as is cycling but quad bikes and horse treks are also a good way to get off the beaten track.

We are a group of 4 who bought this villa together. My partner of 14 years, her sister and my best friend. We had spoken about having a holiday home in Andalusia for years so for us Casa Calida is very much a home from home where we can enjoy breaks away in the sun as well as sharing with others. I live and work in East Sussex with Nicki my partner. I have my own business as a handy person whilst Nicki works in London running a charity to help the homeless. Nicki's sister Wendy lives and works in Nepal whilst Lois my friend who also part owns the villa lives and works in London. We all love Casa Calida and have put a great deal of time and effort into it to make it comfortable and a special place to spend time.

Why they chose this property

We chose Andalusia as the place to buy a holiday home as all 4 of us have been to this area of Spain many times - we have friends and family in the area. We spent the most part of a year looking for the ideal property - somewhere that was still typically Spanish and not too touristy but close enough to that sort of thing if really needed. Alora really appealed as its close to the coast and airport but is one of those traditional pueblo blanco towns that has retained its unique character and charm. The local people are also incredibly friendly and welcoming. The local farmer always brings us gifts of whatever is in season ranging from lemons, oranges, eggs, aubergines, eggs and even organic olive oil. All given with a smile.

What makes this property unique

The villa itself was the one for us because of its size, the large pool and its setting. It nestles in the foothills of the mountains with glorious views from all directions.
We literally viewed dozens of properties when searching for 'the one' but we simply fell in love with the look and feel of Casa Calida. It has a pretty little awning over the conservatory which makes the villa look like a show boat on the Mississippi plus it even has its very own 80 ft palm tree!
The privacy and seclusion of the villa also appealed to us. No one can see into the property or pool. All you can hear is the sound of the birds and the breeze through the leaves of the palm tree. Its really peaceful and very beautiful.
