A fantastic place to stay
From the very beginining of booking this apartment everything was trouble free. The staff dealt with all of our questions promptly and offered advice on the property and surronding area which proved invaluable.
The apartment was clean and comfortable with Satelite TV, DVD player and that all important Air Con unit...trust me, I fell in love with it!!?
The view from the porch across to the Island of Brac is quite simply stunning. There are a series of steep steps down to the beach, some are private and lead into peoples homes?(yeah) so be a little careful. Turn left from the apartment and walk to the end of the road and you walk down a path through Pine Trees, down to a beautiful beach...turn right and you're walking towards Brella itself, past a small local supermarket, and then to probably the best restaurant called 'Mediteran'. The walk to Brella harbour is quite a long one, especially in late August, so take advantage of the shade of local beach bars and cafe's along the way.....roughly speaking a meal was around £20.00 for the three of us, including beer/soft drinks.
All of the beaches were 'never' crowded....the sea water is perfect, Gin Clear, fish swim around your feet...snorkeling is a must....all the beaches are spotlessly clean. .but are pebbles/shale...so take beach shoes, you will need them.
Renting a car wasn't necessary for us, a bit of effort walking up to the main road from the apartment and you can catch a local, air coditioned bus for about £1.50 into the town of Omish, a very beautiful place, take a boat ride up the river or go to the many excursions stalls who offer white water rafting down through the Gorge.
Brella is a beautiful place, the people are friendly and even late at night there was 'never' any threat from anyone.....people seemed to be in a very good place, it was so relaxing.
But the whole time that we were there we never heard one English person speak, plenty of Italians, who love to holiday there as well as German and Croats....but why on earth the British are staying away from this place beggars belief...it is stunning and we will be going back as soon as we are able..........do yourself a favour and get over to the Dalmatian Coast.
