Here a few extracts from our guestbook about guests experiences at Florença Jardins & Apartamentos:
"What a wonderful place fulfilled all that we needed + more, relaxing, peaceful welcoming, quiet, everything we needed. Loved the beautiful church bell a good reminder to turn every half hour!!! Beautiful pool + gardens, great to jump into when it gets too hot + restful to be in the gardens. Loved Melissa and Rui, you two are great + also Josie and Jessie. This is the most tranquil place in the World and we've loved being here. Pure bliss and don't want to leave. Best holiday ever," Susan and Poppy. Mother and Daughter. 09/08/2016

"We had a great time in this very peaceful house. We enjoyed all: nice garden, swimming pool and comfortable apartment, stunning view. Every day we spent time between relax and visiting towns around, We went to walk on the beach (Figueras). We felt like at home! Holidays as we like!! Thank you for your welcome"
Nathanaelle & Sebast France. 17/08/2016

"The whole place was really nice and we all felt we could finally relax here. We visited Coimbra and Conimbraga, both beautiful and worth seeing. The pool was really nice! Thank you for such a great holiday" Emma 12/08/2016

"Thank you for a wonderfully relaxed holiday. The garden, pool and apartment facilities have been great. We have explored locally -Fragas de Sao Simao, Castles at Pombal and Leiria, coast Sao Pedro de Moel and Coimbra. We have taken advantage of the '4 person train sharing scheme' Mid-week travel fron Pombal Train Station €25 return each. We therefore spent 2 days in Lisbon in our first week and 2 days in Porto for our second week. Two very different cities. We have eaten (many times) at the local Restaurant and quickly learnt to share meals as there was so much!! The manager knows his Port!! O Terrier do Lagar in Cabeça Redondo. We have enjoyed our time here very much and would like to thank Melissa and Rui for their help and welcome" Paul, Karen, Jennifer and Sophie.06/08/2016

"This is a wonderfully comfortable place to stay. We loved how tastefully decorated everything is and we particularly loved the sunny garden. We used the property as a base for exploring the area, visiting Coimbra, Leiria,Oporto, the ruins at Conimbriga and the coast at Sao Pedro de Moel. The drive through the endless pine forest west of Leiria was an amazing surprise. We also spent the day in Lisbon: a two hour drive, but well worth it. The best restaurant that we found is 'O terrier do Lagar,in Cabeca Redondo (a five minute drive from the apartment)which is very reasonably priced but serves delicious simply prepared meat and fish with excellent wine. Our host Shirley was extremely kind and attentive" Thank you! Nicola and Colin 02/04/2016

"Had a great time here in Central Portugal. This is a very good base for travel to any direction, from Lisbon to Porto. Highways are very good and not much traffic. The river valleys to the North are spectacular. Cabril Dam, to the east near Pedrogao is a nice place for swimming as are the many beaches on the riverbanks at all the nearby towns.
The towns we liked the best are Serta,Tomar and Coimbra. The Templar Castle in Tomar and the aqueduct behind as well as the plaza, were very pretty. The view from the University of Coimbra of he River below was very nice. Most of all we really enjoyed staying here. Everyone was so kind and friendly,Coming back soon... Dennis and Betty Spain"

Excellent garden and terrace, but more remote than expected.
We used this apartment for four days to visit the are particularly Coimbra and it’s university and Roman ruins Coninbriga. Both very interesting well worth visiting, places that offered excellent restaurants, attached to the museums. The apartment was fine though the bedroom a little cramped, due to unseasonal weather we were unable to make use of the beautiful garden and pool.

About the host

Host profile image
Having had an affinity with Portugal for several decades, buying a property and living there, was very definitely at the top of our wish list.
The idea of actually building a business here really evolved rather than forming part of some master plan.

Why they chose this property

When we started to look for a property of our own in this part of Portugal, the one that we bought was the very first one that we downloaded from the internet and although we looked at a few more, it was very much a question of love at first site.
We loved the feeling of space, the beautiful views and the simplistic way of live in this small village.

What makes this property unique

Peace, tranquility and a feeling of stepping back in time when life seemed to be much simpler.
