About the property

The Barn is a beautifully restored one bedroom cottage with private garden

The Barn is a beautifully recently restored one bedroom cottage in the North of the New Forest. It features a mezzanine bedroom and ensuite bathroom accessed by a stunning spiral staircase. There are large feature windows and beautiful old beams, a fully fitted kitchen with everything you need to cook a roast dinner. On chilly evenings you can relax in front of a wood burning fire, whilst the private patio is a real sun trap! Well-behaved dogs are welcomed and will enjoy the Forest walks from the doorstep.

Nestled in the ancient North Ridge of The New Forest National Park, The Barn provides a peaceful hideway to relax and enjoy the unique beauty of the forest.

Situated within the forest boundary, inside the cattle grid areas, our regular visitors include the famous ponies and cattle that make the forest such a stunning wildlife environment. Whilst deer are a rare sight, we often welcome a small herd into the paddocks, to enjoy some free grazing!

The Barn has recently been beautifully restored to provide an open plan living area with a mezzanine bedroom and bathroom, which is accessed by a stunning spiral staircase. The Barn has underfloor heating throughout and a cosy wood burning stove for chilly evenings.

The kitchen is well-equipped with a sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric hob and oven. Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, cleaning products, dish cloths and tea towels are provided. Milk, tea and sugar are provided on arrival.

The living area has a two seater sofa, a tv and dvd player. Some books and dvds are provided for guests use. There is a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings.

The bedroom has a comfortable double bed with hotel quality linen. The bedroom leads to a well sized ensuite bathroom with fluffy towels and plenty of space for wash bags.

Outside is a private patio with outside lighting where you can relax in the sun. There is a private parking space available for guests.

Beautiful barn, warm and comfortable and finished to a high standard.

  • 4 of 5

What a lovely barn! We had a lovely week and really enjoyed our stay. The barn was immaculate and decorated to a very high standard. Only thing I could criticise would be the lack of wifi, or mobile phone reception but I suppose that's the price you have to pay for staying in a remote location. A landline would have helped as communication with family was needed. But on the whole a lovely experience. Thanks.

A modern and stylish barn conversion.

  • 4 of 5

The barn was very well equipped with a comfortable bed. The patio area got plenty of afternoon sunshine and had two good quality loungers. The property was close to the road which could be a bit noisy during rush hour but most of the time it was quiet. Astrid was very welcoming.

Beautiful barn conversion and excellent hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We have just had a lovely long weekend away staying in the barn. The conversion is beautiful and has been completed to a very high standard and everything has been supplied to make your stay comfortable. We were allowed to stay with our 6 month old baby and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. The mezzanine bedroom is small and not big enough for a conventional travel cot, however we have a next to me crib which fitted fine - it was cosy but plenty big enough for a short stay. They also supplied a high chair, play mat, bouncy chair and baby bath to save us having to take these too - anyone with children will know how much stuff you have to take away so this was really helpful. We took a portable BBQ to have on the terrace which was lovely as it was boiling when we stayed - the owners actually supplied us with a fan to help with the heat too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this is a perfect base base to go exploring around the New Forest.
