3 km from Malaucène in the Vaucluse, l'Eau Salée, magnificent south-facing Provençal 'mas' built in 1783, secluded, protected from the Mistral, peaceful, a panoramic view of the Dentelles range, the ideal spot to recharge one's batteries. A perfect destination for cyclists and hikers, with the summit of the 6,000 ft Mont Ventoux less than 30 min' drive away. Close to Vaison-la-Romaine, a featured destination in the French 'Most Beautiful Detours of France' guide-book, with its picturesque old medieval quarter and Roman remains, numerous artists and craftsmen, and its busy Tuesday market. Nestling in a small private valley with not another house in sight, at L'Eau Salée you can either enjoy our large 16m x 6m pool with ping-pong table, or take a siesta in the shade of lime blossom and walnut trees. Former home of the famous French singer-actress Brigitte Fontaine, who described L'Eau Salée as her 'little corner of Provençal paradise'.
The property is very extensive, with several independent entrances, and accommodation which can be divided off (independent kitchens and bathrooms). For group reunions, should you wish to retain a degree of privacy for each family, L'Eau Salée is the ideal location. You can also have a party at one end of the property, without being able to hear the slightest noise at the other end.

My family fell in love with this property at first sight. It had everything - peace and quiet, yet proximity to local services and amenities. Beautiful mountains and countryside, skiing, cycling, and a wonderful climate. An ancient property with so much character, springs and wells, fertile land. Such a great place to bring up a young family.
