Villa Christina is a modern, very spacious and well-equipped 4 bedroom / 3 bathroom air-conditioned villa with its own private pool located at Gemstone Village, Choirokoitia. With beautiful views over open countryside to the coast, it is an exclusive development with on-site facilities including a magnificent communal swimming pool, separate children's pool, convenient pool-side kiosk selling a range of snacks and drinks (seasonal opening), tennis court and children's play area.

With four tastefully furnished large bedrooms (2 with en-suite), immaculate, modern, comfortable furnishings, full air conditioning, unlimited internet access (wireless broadband) and TV with DVD/CD player, Villa Christina is the ideal location for up to 8 people (+ 2 cots).

Apart from the pool-side kiosk, a friendly family restaurant is just a couple of minutes' walk from the villa..............why not try their wonderful selection of tasty Cypriot dishes or their refreshing homemade lemonade? There is also a wide selection of restaurants and bars located nearby either in the historic and beautiful village of Choirokoitia or neighbouring villages.

Around Choirokoitia: The local blue flag Governor's Beach, with its sweeping sandy beaches, hidden coves and wide selection of restaurants, is around 10 minutes drive from Choirokoitia. Alternatively, you might want to try horse riding, fishing, cycling or a trip to see traditional local activities such as olive-pressing. The many local nature trail walks are a wonderful way to enjoy the picturesque views or just wander through the paved streets of Choirokoitia to leave you admiring the characteristic houses of the area. The village of Zygi is also around ten minutes' drive away, and here you will find stunning deep blue sea, the wonderful new marina and the excellent seafood tavernas it is famed for. Agios Minas Monastery and the historic village of Lefkara with its beautiful embroidery and lace-making are also nearby. There really is so much to see and do away from the hustle and bustle of the big resorts!

Limassol, the island's largest seaside resort, boasts a wide range of tavernas, restaurants and shops. It has a Medieval Castle, local galleries, and is famous for its wine production. You may also want to take a cruise from there to the Holy Land, Egypt or even the Greek islands. Just outside of Limassol, you will find Fasouri Watermania, which offers the largest selection of water slides and attractions in Cyprus.

The Troodos mountain range are definitely worth a visit and the stunning Mount Olympus (1,952m) can be reached in around an hour. Hilltop villages full of vineyards and Byzantine churches make this a popular day trip when you need a rest from the beach, so if you want peace and tranquillity, going for long walks, bird-watching or cycling in pine-scented forests this is for you.

How to get there: Charter and scheduled airlines fly frequently into Paphos and Larnaca throughout the year. Both airports offer car rental from the major rental companies and details of local companies can be provided on request.

The new Larnaca International airport is about 25 - 30 min from the villa. Paphos International airport is about 1 h and 20 min. The route from either airport is very straightforward with most of the route being on Cyprus's excellent motorway which stretches from one end of the island to the other. A car is advisable, not least to explore the beauties of the island.

Driving in Cyprus, on the left-hand side, is simple as there is much less traffic and the signs are in English as well as Cypriot.

Why did we choose Villa Christina? The location of Villa Christina was a major reason.........situated in the beautiful Cyprus countryside close to such beautiful old villages as Tochni and Lefkara but only 10 minutes' drive from the sea. Being only 30 minutes from Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol, it's easy to reach these fascinating cities and then to return to the beautiful peace and quiet of Choirokoitia.

What makes this villa unique

Our favourite times at Villa Christina are usually when we can sit in the back garden soaking up the glorious sunshine. Looking across open fields to the coast, we can listen to the birds or watch a herd or goats as they munch the grass. The evening is also mesmerising with the sound of crickets and the amazing sight of thousands of stars in the massive sky

Notes:
The air-conditioning units in all rooms provide cooling and heating, according to your needs. The cost of air conditioning is included but we ask that A/C units are kindly used with discretion and switched off when the property is unoccupied or windows/doors are open. There are also ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms + the main living area. A full set of linen and towels is provided for use in the villa (please provide own beach towels). A selection of plastic beakers and plates for use by the pool or by children. A range of books, games, CDs and DVDs to suit all ages. Buckets, spades and beach toys available for your use. There is a lovely communal tennis court which is just two minutes' walk away from the villa and next to the children's play area.

The Complete Package Excellent Value

From the first moment we contacted the owner Heather, the service we received was nothing short of excellent. The house is fully equipped to cater for your every need, this included our 4 month old daughter to my mother in law celebrating her 60th Birthday! House extremely clean, A/C in all rooms, even the 2 hour limit can be overcome by the use of the light fans in all rooms. The complex swimming pool was fantastic, with not many holiday rentals on the complex the swimming pool will never be overcrowded and the small bar/café staff are always available if you require a snack or drink. Could not of been happier with our stay and would happily recommend Villa Christina to everyone!

great location and lovely villa.

The villa is well equipped and Heather was very responsive when we had questions and addressed issues very quickly so that we felt 'taken care of' and not out there without help.

we will definitely look to come back in future. the issue with payment was addressed with Heather but the website gives somewhat contradictory information about the payment mode, so Homeowners direct should look to revise this. Had Heather not been helpful and proactive we would not have booked the villa.

Fantastic villa in a tranquil setting

We stayed in Villa Christina for 9 nights in July '16 and enjoyed it immensely. The villa was very clean, with good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped and has everything you need, should you decide to dine indoors. There are two options for eating al fresco; ground level by the private pool or on a large balcony on the first floor - both with lovely views. The villa benefits from air-con throughout, which is much needed during the long, hot, sunny days. The location of the villa was great - away from the hustle and bustle of the highly populated tourist areas, but close enough to restaurants, supermarkets and beaches. A hire vehicle is recommended. The large communal pool was an added bonus and thoroughly enjoyed by our daughter. Booking was very swift, with any queries answered immediately. Overall, we would highly recommend this rental property.

Wonderful holiday in Cyprus

We have had a great 8 days in the villa- our first visit to Cyprus. The weather was excellent and much better than expected.

The Villa is very clean, tidy and very well equipped with all the required facilities either on site or very close by, particularly enjoyed the tennis court!

It is also a very quiet and secure location. Have visited many of the local villages and larger towns with a hire car- some wonderful sites and places of interest, including Nicossia and Northern Cyprus.

Many places to eat and drink, local to the villa, such as the Rainbow and Nostos in Tochni- all offering good food at great value.

For home catering, there is a large supermarket only 5 mins away.

Thanks for a great stay- looking forward to coming again!!

A brilliant villa - great views & perfect location

Myself and a friend stayed for a week in March, wanting to have a week of relaxing, sightseeing & exploring the island. The villa was fantastic - spotlessly clean and very light and airy. The owners have thought of everything, from sunloungers tucked away on the terrace at the back, overlooking the fields & hills, to maps & guidebooks for exploring the island.

We swam in the pool less than 100m from the villa every morning, and had breakfast every day on the terrace overlooking fields down to the sea.

The 4 bedrooms are all a good size, 2 with en-suites & 2 with access to the upstairs balcony. The sitting/dining/kitchen area is a brilliant room, especially if there's a big group of you, for eating/hanging out in.

The villa is perfectly located for exploring the island - about 15 mins drive from the beach, midway between Limassol & Larnaca (30-40mins drive from each) & 40mins from the capital, Nicosia. The nearest beach (Governor's beach near Zygi, which is a blue flag beach) was perfect for sunbathing & swimming and the sea gets deep very gradually (perfect if you have kids!). We also visited Lady's Mile Beach just past Larnaca. Stunning views of the Troodos mountains & cafes/restaurants every couple of hundred metres along. We had great fun driving across the sand around the salt lake down there.

We also visited Nicosia for a day - a great place for wandering round and definite highlight were when we wandered off the main roads & discovered the quieter areas of the city on the Eastern side. The Shacolas Tower is definitely worth going up - fantastic views of the Troodos Mountains, Nicosia & Turkish Cyprus. We went over to the Turkish side of Nicosia, which if anything was even better. The Selimiye Mosque and Buyuk Han (a very old courtyard marketplace with little shops & cafes around the edge) were definitely worth a visit. We also had a fantastic meal at the Friends of Museums restaurant, just to the right of the Selimiye Mosque.

Other fantastic days were driving to the Troodos Mountains (including a lovely walk to Kaledonia Falls, and driving to the top of Mt Olympus - stunning views!

Writing this is making me want to go back tomorrow! I can't recommend Villa Christina & Cyrpus highly enough, it was just perfect!

villa supreme

The villa is as discribed, with everthing you need. The pool areas are fantastic and cleaned every day. The location is 5 min from the main motor way and as we were a party of keen clay pigeon shooters it made getting around the island easy and at the end of the day the local resturants made us very welcome.The whole booking process is simple and painless and we would have no problems recommending the villa.

Gemstone Village is situated just on the edge of the historical village of Choirokoitia (also spelt Khirokitia), a UNESCO World Heritage site founded 7 Millennium BC. The local village has a traditional Cypriot charm with meandering, pretty streets as well as convenient facilities such as a village shop, post office and bars. A large, new AlphaMega supermarket is situated just 5 minutes' drive away and is open early until late 7 days per week. The village is also very well situated between the three large cities of Cyprus; Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol, all of which are accessible by car within 25-30 minutes, and nearby beaches. This scenic village is the perfect location for enjoying the best of both worlds, exploring the tourist attractions that Cyprus has to offer, whilst providing a relaxing retreat in a peaceful location. Home to Cyprus' new international airport, Larnaca is less than 30 minutes' drive away and is a bustling coastal resort. It is the third largest town on the island and its palm-tree lined sea front promenade has many cafes and bars and hosts a stunning marina.

25% of the rental sum, subject to a minimum of £150 (Euro 175), is requested as a non-refundable booking deposit at the time of booking. The remainder is requested to be paid 6 weeks prior to your holiday.

A refundable breakages deposit of £200 (Euro 250) payable with final balance. This will be refunded within 2 weeks of your return (subject to satisfactory return of keys and property inspection) This is to cover major breakages and the deposit will not be withheld for the odd smashed glass - accidents do happen!

The cost of air conditioning is included in your rental price but we ask that A/C units are kindly used with discretion and switched off when the property is unoccupied or windows/doors are open. Each of the bedrooms + the main living area also have ceiling fans.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
